For A Life

My heart disheartens when my eyes burn,
At frail-looking faces of little orphans,
And their pair of powerless hands that yearn,
For some care,
For some love,
For a LIFE.

My heart weeps in silence when I see,
Children crying helplessly,
A pair of teary eyes wailing endlessly,
For some food,
For some water,
For a LIFE.

My heart softens as my eyes meet,
The homeless children roaming the streets,
Never following their heart, but rather their feet,
For some shelter,
For some warmth,
For a LIFE.

My heart breaks in a hush when I try to see,
How merciless the diseases can be,
And the children's only wish in this world is to tarry,
For some more days,
For some more air,
For a LIFE.

This piece is dedicated to all the less fortunate children who do not have the chance to see how beautiful this world is. My heart breaks each time I gaze at the pictures of those frail-looking innocent souls. And to all you readers out there, you may never know how fortunate you are unless you have seen the worst in life.
