Going Home

Like a school of dolphins, smirking faces lined in sequence appeared,
Like a twinkie in cupcakes, grinning lips of sweetness pacify the air,
Like a whirlwind in spring, the memories of yesteryear rushes in,
Like a raging current, the nostalgic sentiments of my hometown emerged.

A jet plane landed, bringing in hopeful souls to this land,
A jet plane departed, sending fulfilled dreams back home,
A jet plane berthed, letting anxious minds to wonder off in excitement,
A jet plane waiting, for this restless heart to be unruffled completely.

The silent dreams, of childhood fears and fantasies unreal,
The companion world, of truth and honesty of months and years,
The family prayer, of unity, love, and endless joy to be shared,
The hometown of mine, the place where I was born and shaped.

I recall clearly, the streets that were once my playground,
I recall vividly, the school that beamed me with knowledge and wisdom,
I recall distinctly, the trees that were once my shelter and source of laughter,
I recall everything, about my hometown and how it spiced up my life.

I am going back, to all those mesmerizing places of my heart,
I am going back, to the place that I can gladly call home,
I am going back, to where the sun and the moon is most enchanting,
I am going back, to my hometown, my city, my one and only Ipoh.
