It would make my day. Notes: Just some angst… I’ve been sick, and am showing it through my writing. *s indicate thought. -------------------------Looking over his various bills and invoices, Angelus ran his fingers through his short, dark hair. The apartment always seemed too quiet when Xander wasn’t here. *It’s just class… not like he’s on a date with the bitch or anything…* Staring blankly at the papers, seeing a sea of numbers and letters, but not really seeing any of them, the vampire let out a low growl of frustration.
Before Xander, he would have spent these daylight hours asleep. But now that the boy had entered his life, Angelus found himself sleeping less, wanting to spend every second that he could in his lover’s arms. And since the apartment blocked the light, he could be awake, unmindful of the deathly sunshine outside.
But these times when Xander was out, occupied with that part of his life that didn’t include Angelus, the world seemed unworthwhile… empty…
Like it was dead.
And Angelus was all too familiar with death. Death was his existence. Having Xander was like having a rose, growing in a field of rock and gravel. A beautiful, lovely, alive person.
The vampire’s dark eyes gazed down at his hands, a deep sadness filling them. He rarely if ever felt regrets. Being a vampire was a life he was used to… a life he enjoyed. But at times like this he wished he could be in the sunlight, to see his lover in the shining rays… to see the golden light reflecting off of his brown eyes.
Shaking his head, Angelus pushed back from the desk. *This is going nowhere*
He headed to his bedroom, pulling off his soft white shirt. *Might as well try to catch a few winks* Angelus pushed down his leather pants, letting them fall to the floor. Stepping out of them, and crawling into bed, he felt the leather of his sheets caress his body. Turning his face into his pillow, Angelus screwed his eyes shut, blocking out the upset he felt about not having Xander beside him.
-------------------------------
The bed shifted a little. Angelus’ eyes opened slowly, the disorientation from waking covering his body. Reaching up, he rubbed the sleep blearyness from his eyes. As he focused, he saw a smile beaming down on him.
"So I was sitting in lecture today, and something kept nagging at me. I tried to listed to my dweeby professor, but I was preoccupied by something… I didn’t know what." Xander’s voice was soft, his lips raining down tiny kisses on Angelus’ face.
"Finally, when I left the hall, I knew I had to skip my last class and come see you."
Angelus looked at his lover’s face, seeing sunshine in his grin. Wrapping his arms around his lover’s neck, the vampire sighed softly.
Xander chuckled gently. "I see I made the right choice."
