Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Began at Cornell University on December 4, 1906 by seven strong and determined African-American Males.
These brothers refused to yield to any barriers that were placed upon them, racial, social as well as academic.
On January 1908, the fraternity was incorporated in New York City and is still remembered as the first African-American
Fraternity ever formed as well as incorporated. The seven Jewel Brothers responsible for Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity are
Jewel Brothers Henry Arthur Callis, Charles Henry Chapman, Eugene Kinkle Jones, George Biddle Kelly, Nathaniel Allison Murray, Vertner Woodson Tandy,
and Robert Harold Ogle these courageous men accomplished the task that they eagerly sought after.
