DALE JARRET

NASCAR's Dale Jarrett and Ford Credit Join the Fight Against Breast Cancer In 1998, NASCAR driver Dale Jarrett will be racing for more than Winston Cup championship points and prize money. He'll be racing for a cure for breast cancer. Every top-three finish and every number one starting position (pole) earned by Jarrett in NASCAR Winston Cup championship races during the 1998 campaign will generate a donation to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation from Ford Credit. "I think it goes without saying that the women in my life, my wife, Kelley, my mom, and my two girls, are very important to me," said Jarrett. "They've supported me while I've chased my dream of winning a NASCAR Winston Cup championship. With this program, my on-track success has an extra benefit that eventually may have a positive effect on my family. I'm happy to be a part of it." Mother of three children and a former school teacher, Kelley Jarrett supports her husband's partnership with Ford Credit on behalf of the Komen Foundation and will play an active role in their cause. "Breast cancer is a frightening reality for too many women, and the Komen Foundation provides hope," said Kelley Jarrett. "Dale and Ford Credit have a chance to help them along and, hopefully, I'll be able to help spread the message." Ford Credit will donate $10,000 to the Komen Foundation for every race that Jarrett wins, $7,500 for every runner-up finish and $5,000 for each third place finish this season. Jarrett will generate an additional $5,000 for the Komen Foundation for each pole he earns in competition. The current donation is up to $112,500! The Komen Foundation is thrilled to have the Jarretts and Ford Credit's support.
