Are you happy with the way your career is going on? Yes, I have spent my past and I don’t think too much about the future. I like to know what’s there in the present and enjoy my work. That’s all I can tell you. I always wanted variety. I like it now, may be do one drama, one comedy, one multi starrer- do variety of roles in the films. I think people are actually taking efforts these days to make different cinema. I think now you have more choice and the scripts you hear are different. It’s like I can make a choice.
Q. How come I didn't hear you mention cooking?
Oh, I love cooking. But I am such a bad cook. And I always burn my fingers. I can never make the same thing twice. Like the other day I made khichdi and my sister said, "This is the first and last time you are making it. It's so yummy!" Maybe she was hungry. But even I had forgotten what all I had dumped into it. And I burnt myself...
Is marriage anywhere on the horizon? "Marriage is not important nor an issue in my family because I have a sister and cousins older than me who are still unmarried. I'm in no hurry. I'm very ambitious and focused about my career. I'm doing well and I don't see myself slowing down for the next five years. I'll think of marriage only after that. Acting is a 24-hour job, so where's the time for the kind of commitment marriage requires?"
"I work round the clock because I have excess energy. I don't like to cut down on my work schedule. Post- September 11, my priorities had shifted a little, I decided to spend more time with my family and friends. But I must confess that with the passing of the months, I've once again started concentrating on things which are more materialistic."
