DTM Muffler

A performance exhaust is necessary to allow proper air flow out of the engine. The advantages of a performance exhaust over the factory one is increased horse power (especially in the higher rpm range), good looks, and great sound.

For my Prelude, I wanted a cat-back exhaust that was full stainless steel from beginning to end and had a DTM muffler. I also wanted a 2.25" tube diameter and not anything wider since a diameter that is too big can take away from your torque. At the time, with all of my constraints, Brullen was the obvious choice.

Reasons For Choosing Brullen

• Full 304 stainless steel (not just the muffler)
• Mandrel bent tubes
• Can accomidate most applications - you can choose the type of muffler you want, the diameter of the tube, and the diameter of the resonator
• Less expensive than Japanese brands

I went with the 4" resonator.

In My Opinion

Since installing my Brullen exhaust, I have had no complaints, except that the carbon coming out of the exhaust gets all over my rear bumper and truck lid. The DTM tip gives the car a more aggressive look. The exhaust produces a deep & loud roar when you are on the throttle. Going through tunnels with the windows down will bring a grin to your face. I am not sure about the performance gains, but the air should be escaping at a faster rate, especially in VTEC. If you are on a budget, I would recommend this exhaust. But if you want the best and you are willing to fork out the dollars, I would recommend a proven Japanese brand.
