HARTSELLE - Funeral services for Mrs. Glenda Sue Grantland McCutcheon, 57, of Evergreen, Alabama were held Saturday, December 14, 1996 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Peck Funeral Home with Rev. Truman Shaddrix officiating. Burial was in Hartselle Memorial Gardens with Peck Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. McCutcheon died Wednesday, December 11, 1996 at Vaughn-Evergreen Medical Center after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born December 15, 1938 in Morgan County, Alabama. She was manager of the Shell Food Mart in Evergreen, and was state licensed in cosmetology. Active in many school activities, for many years she was Class Mother at Sparta Academy, and the area's Boy Scouts of America Den Leader and District Master.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Elliott McCutcheon of Evergreen; one son, Christopher Billy "Kris" McCutcheon of Evergreen; two daughters, Phyllis Jeannae Kwanja Owens of Enterprise and Vonnie Valeria Owens Willis of Somerville; her father, George Odis Grantland of Northport; her mother, Valerie Claudine Lyle Grantland Stanley of Hartselle; one brother, Harold Keith Grantland of Chicago; two sisters, Betty Zane Pannell of Decatur and Shelby Jean Jackson of Hartselle; and two grandchildren, Judge David "Judd" Meriwether and Julia DaVonna Davis both of Somerville.

(NOTE: Sue is the grandchild of the late Harry Floyd Lyle and the late Dora Edna Breeding Lyle, both of Somerville, MorganCO, AL and the late James Edgar "Ed" Grantland and the late Florence Eunice "Eunie" Blevins, both of Hartselle, MorganCO, AL. Daughter-in-law of the late John Elliott McCutcheon and the late Ruth Luker, both of Hartselle, MorganCO, AL. She once married and divorced the late Lonnie Verne Owen, son of the late Lester Bert Owen and Dorothy Dimple Flack, all of Somerville, MorganCO, AL. SOMERVILLE - James "Vermon" Goodson, 72, of 726 West Point Road died Monday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Rescue Methodist Church.

Burial will be at Rescue Cemetery with Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Mary "Mozelle" Black Goodson; one daughter, "Sherri" Lorrane Goodson Wood of Texas; two sons, "Gary" Wayne Goodson of Somerville and Randall Keith "Randy" Goodson of Decatur; one brother, Edward "Felton" Goodson of Lacey's Spring; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m.




BETTY JEANNETTE BERRYMAN GOODSON

Funeral for Betty "Jeannette" Berryman Goodson, 69, of Lacey's Spring was Sunday, February 21st, 1999, at 2 pm at Roselawn Funeral Home with Rev. Eldridge Criscoe officiating.

Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Goodson died Friday, February 19, 1999, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was a native of Limestone county.

She is survived by her husband, Edward "Felton" Goodson of Lacey's pring; two sons, "Ralph" Edward Goodson Lacey's Spring and Michael Felton "Mike" Goodson of Morgan City; three brothers, Charles G. Berryman of Morton, Illinois, Douglas Berryman of Pierce, Illinois and Henry Berryman of Oklahoma; three sisters, Ann Berryman Nugent of Geraldine, Wanda Berryman Hansen and Carolyn Berryman Zahan, both of California; and one grandchild, Megan Dawn Goodson.




GLENDA DAY GRANT

Funeral for Glenda Day Grant, 55, of Huntsville was Monday, November 30, 1998 at 1:00 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Davis officiating.

Burial was in Red Oak Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Grant died Saturday, November 28, 1998 at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Pulaski, TN. She was a native of Morgan County and a member of First Christian Church.

She is survived by one son, Charles Allen Grant of Decatur; one daughter, Karen Grant Holbert of Lynnville, TN; her mother, Dolly Luker Day of Falkville; two brothers, Bobby G. Day of Decatur and Jack Day of Tallahassee, FL; two sisters, Wanda Day Young of Hartselle and Mary Jane Day Burnette of Huntsville; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Scott Johnson, Tim Johnson, Pat Thompson, Ronnie Day, Shaun Day and Craig Young.

MINNIE LEE BREEDING

Funeral for Minnie Lee Hartselle Breeding, 72, of Hartselle will be Thursday, December 10, at 1:30 p.m. at the Hartselle Church of Christ with Phillip Hines and Dr. Andy Dukes officiating.

Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens with Peck Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Breeding died Monday, December 7, 1998 at her residence. She was a native of Morgan County and a member of the Hartselle Church of Christ. She was a 1944 graduate of Morgan County High School, where she was valedictorian, and a former employee of the City of Decatur Electric Department. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Cathy Lee Campbell.

She is survived by her husband, Theron L. Breeding of Hartselle, one son, Stephen L. Breeding of Franklin, Tenn.; one daughter, Elizabeth Gayle Thornton of Hartselle; 12 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Drew Breeding, Cory Williams, Ken Breeding, Mike Breeding, Wes Thornton and Shawn Breeding.

Memorials will be made to Hospice of the Valley.



THOMAS EUGENE BREEDING

Funeral for Thomas Eugene Breeding, 70, of Decatur will be Thursday, January 7, at 1:00 p.m. at New Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Smothers officiating.

Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Breeding died Tuesday, January 5, 1999 at Hartselle Medical Center. He was a native of Morgan County and a retired auto mechanic. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by two sons, Dan E. Breeding and John Breeding, both of Somerville; two daughters, Jo Rhe Taylor of Somerville and Rita Burden of Hartselle; one brother, Cois Breeding of Tuscaloosa; two sisters, Avery Murphy of Birmingham and Ruth Weaver of Eva; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

HARTSELLE- Funeral for Irene Winton Jones, 81, of Somerville will be Wednesday at 2 pm at Center Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. W.L. Cole officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jones died Sunday, January 17, 1999 at Huntsville Hospital East. She was born September 5, 1917 in Morgan County to Zack and Buna Vester Winton. She was a housekeeper at the former Hartselle Hospital and was a member of the Center Springs United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son, Kendall G. Jones of Somerville; one daughter, Frankie Rhoden of Somerville; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Luker, Gary Dobbs, Robert Freeman, Anthony Winton, B.J. Winton, and I.C. Winton.



HAZEL COUCH OLDACRE

Funeral for Hazel COUCH Oldacre, 85, of Somerville was Saturday, July 17, 1999, at New Canaan Baptist Church with Reverend Eldridge Criscoe officiating and Arab Memorial Chapel directing. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Oldacre died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at her residence. She was a native of Marshall County and a member of New Canaan Baptist Church. She was the widow of Lorimer Oldacre.

She is survived by two sons, A.Q. Oldacre of Somerville and Joseph Lowell "JOE" Oldacre of Kuantan, Malaysia; one daughter, Brenda OLDACRE Keen of Orange Park, FL; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

HARTSELLE-Funeral for Dolly LUKER Day, 91, Summerford Nursing Home of Falkville, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with Rev. Clint Coffey officiating.

Burial will be in Red Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Day died Wednesday, August 25th, 1999, at her residence. She was born July 31, 1908 in Morgan County to Garrison Luker and Amelia WOLFF Luker.

She retired as a sales clerk at Montgomery-Ward and Pizitz in Huntsville. She was a member of the Valhermosa Springs First Christian Church, the widow of William Winfrey Day, and the mother of the late Katie Sue Day, Margaret Nell DAY Thompson, and Glenda DAY Grant.

She is survived by two sons, Jack Day of Tallahassee, Florida, and Judge Bobby Day of Decatur; two daughters, Wanda DAY Young of Decatur and Mary Jane DAY Brunette of Huntsville; one sister, Virginia LUKER Meredith of Winter Haven, Florida; 23 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and eight step great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Valhermoso First Christian Church Cemetery Fund or Red Oak Cemetery in Cotaco.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

VERNON A. "BILL" THOMAS

Hartselle-Funeral for Vernon A. "Bill" Thomas, 77, of Hartselle was Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Walter Blackmon and Norman Whittoon officiating.

Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.

Mr. Thomas died Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was a disabled World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Hartselle.

He is surved by his wife, Martha H. Thomas of Hartselle; and one brother, Allen Thomas of Cotaco.

Pallbearers were Johnny Chandler, Hamil Lawrence, Don Pouncey, Scotty Stinson, Larry Thomas and Randy Thomas.

(Note: I have always called him Uncle Bill, even though he was actually a cousin of mine. He is son of James Worth Thomas and Bernice "Bunt" PRINCE Thomas. His paternal grandparents were the late James Jefferson Thomas and Susan Matilda TRAMMEL Thomas. He is nephew of Fannie May THOMAS Flack. PJKO)

Falkville-Funeral for Idalee M. Lyle, 93, of Falkville was Friday, Oct. 12, at 10 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Debbie Wade officiating. Burial was in Center Springs Cemetery. Ms. Lyle died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at Falkville Nursing Home. A native of Clay County, she was a former teacher, having taught at Six Mile School, Gravel Ridge School and Cotaco Junior High. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1985, and a former member of Antioch Methodist Church for 31 years. She is survived by one daughter, Jackie Glover of Decatur; one sister, Frances Harwell of Decatur; two grandsons; and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Mile Martin, John Martin, Truman Glascock, Greg Glascock, Earl Holt and Tim Sharp
