won gold (5000m) and bronze (800m) in 1984 Olympics;

Nizhah Bidouane
Thirtteen years after Nawal El-Moutawakel
became the first Morocon women to win an Olympic title, with a victory
in the 400 m Hurdels, Nezha Bidouane made her own history over the 400
m Hurdels.
She won the World Champoinship in Athens (1997) at
the 400m hurdels beating Olympic Champion Deon Hemmings of Jamaica
and World Record Holder Kim Batten of USA for a 52.97 sec sweat victory.
"I have been waiting for this moment since 1990,"
said an ecstatic Nizha. "I have been in the event for 10 years, but this
win is a whole new start for me".
