Phivos Papadopoulos : Guitars
Stavros Pamballis : Drums
The biography:
On January 27th, ’96, the band performed in a small club, in front of
about 250 people. The gig started very badly for the band, since one
of the amps got burned before even the support band got on stage.
More disasters followed later (Phivos getting a broken string, broken
drum pedal and many, many other "funny" mishaps)!! Since the band was
used to such misfortunes on gigs, they did not loose any of their
temper and spirit, giving one of their best performances ever. They
really enjoyed the show; the band and the rest of the 250 people who
were there on that night!
In July '96, Phivos joined the army, where 2 years of his life are
going to be wasted! For this reason, as well as the fact that the two
brothers (Nicholas & Socrates) are studying abroad, the band showed
no signs of life for about 10 months.
Meanwhile, a CD compilation was released around the beginning of the
New Year, which featured 9 bands from Cyprus (DIPHTHERIA is of course
included with 2 songs). The CD is titled "Blood Brothers" and on the
whole is a very nicely done job with 13 songs and a total running
time of approx. 65min.
Around the end of May '97, the band got together in order to rehearse
for a gig that was coming up. The band quickly got back to their feet
only to find out (about a week before the gig) that Nicholas (bass)
had decided to "sell" them out for another band he was in...
The band did not loose time and very quickly found two people to help
them out with the bass, just for the gig. The band rehearsed for
about 3 more times (not even once with the musicians being all
together at the same place and time)!! However, on June 28th the band
gave an excellent show in front of about 100/150 people who shook the
place to the ground!
Since then the band has been put back to sleep and things will now
begin to blur even more since it's Stavros' turn now to join the army!
Unfortunately, no one can say how the band's future is going to be
like but the band is not going to split up for a long time. This is
for sure!
