Canon has come out with one of those cameras that is expensive, over-featured (well.....to some extent at least) and can also put a 45-LED fireworks show in the viewfinder put on by the CMOS-based AF system (WOW!). Well, that was my opinion.
Actually, I really don't know what to say about this....this...well, you know........? Yeah, well I decided not for you to take my whole word for it. Soooooooooo, I'll just put down the facts and save myself a whole lot of time, being that this was typed right before Super Bowl Sunday ("Why did I do this?").
By this time, you are all wondering what's up with the 45-LED fireworks, right? Well, that tells you which parts of the photo are in perfect focus. It's like this.... if the part of the photo is in focus, a red rectangle flashes over it. There are 45 of these rectangles in the camera viewfinder. Why 45? Because there are 45 CMOS (not CCD) sensors, each of which is represented by a little red rectangle. Speaking of autofocus, I must say, it is very freaky when you use Eye Control focus. It seems like the camera is connected to your brain. I mean, to me, it is very freaky to just move your eye around and see objects just pop into focus.
This is definitely a model for the very, very demanding proffesional photographer, I think. No built in flash, no fully auto mode. Yeah, the list goes on.
Here is list of the EOS-3's new features:
