Dopplegangerland

Anya pleads with a demon to restore her power center, but he refuses. She vows to return to her old self as opposed to living out the rest of her years as a regular person.

Willow is floating a pencil while Buffy trains to take slayer tests against Faith. As that subject comes up, Willow flings the pencil straight into a tree.

Snyder forces Willow to tutor a bad student who happens to be a jock (his name is Percy) and she complains to Buffy. They go to the library and Faith comes in. Willow is working on breaking into the mayors folders and Faith finds out. She runs to the mayor who has bought her a place full equipped with a Play Station.

Willow goes to find the guy she has to tutor and he basically informs her that she has to do his homework. Then, Buffy calls Willow "Old Reliable". Willow feels brutally rebuffed like she's a doormat. She heads inside and Anya requests that Willow assist her in a spell. Willow accepts and they work to restore her amulet.

They recite the spell and all these visions go through Willow. She sees Buffy kill Vampire Xander and Oz kill Vampire Willow. Then, everything reverses and Vampire Willow isn't killed. A vortex passes and the spell ends. Vampire Willow is alive (non technically) and alone in the normal Sunnydale factory.

Willow becomes terrified of what she's seen and realizes that Anya is toying with seriously dark forces. She leaves.

Vampire Willow wanders through town and is disgusted by all the happy humans. She finds her way to the Bronze and tries to kill Percy, but Xander mistakes it for him assaulting her and "rescues" her. She is overjoyed that Xander is alive, but soon discovers that it is not her Xander. Buffy comes up and Vampire Willow lashes out at them and temporarily shows her game face.

Vampire Willow is met in the alley by some of the mayor's vampire men. She attacks them and forces them to tell her who they are working for by breaking one of their fingers. They give the wrong answer and they become submissive and bow to her.

Buffy and Xander sadly inform Giles of the news and they attempt to deal with it. Just as the mope fest reaches it climax, normal Willow walks in. Buffy approaches her and Willow convinces them that she's human. Buffy leaps onto Willow and hugs her tightly. Xander rushes forward and joins her. Willow kindly asks them to remove themselves due to her lack of air. She thinks she's free of this, but Giles practically tackles her in a huge bear hug. She ponders this strange sensation and asks what's up. They inform her that there is a vampire Willow roaming around.

Anya tries to get a beer at the Bronze, but they don't think she's old enough. Oz and the Dingo's are setting up and Angel shows looking for Buffy. Vampire Willow and her minions crash and threaten the lot of them. Oz and Angel are thoroughly startled by Willow's appearance. Angel runs off to get Buffy. Oz is shocked by the fact that Willow kills a young girl with full game face showing. Oz tries to plea with her and she recognizes him.

Anya informs V. Willow that there are two of her and the one in this world can get her back to her old world.

Willow and the Gang query about this phenomenon and Angel bursts in. He is upset and tries to explain that Willow is dead. Then, he notices Willow. They rush off to the Bronze, but Willow runs back to the library to fetch something. V. Willow attacks her and gets "close" to her. She tosses Willow behind the counter and Willow shoots V. Willow with a tranquilizer dart.

They lock V. Willow in the cage and make a plan. They switch clothes between V. Willow and normal Willow and head to the Bronze. Willow waltzes in as V. Willow and attempts to take charge. She sends one of the guys outside and gives Oz a wink so he knows it's her.

V. Willow comes to in the library and Cordelia saunters in in an evening gown in search of Wesley. (eww!) V. Willow bargains with Cordy to let her out, but Cordelia decides to seize the moment and wants to discuss the "ethics of boyfriend stealing". Cordy goes on and on until V. Willow apologizes and begs to be let out. Cordy finally does. V. Willow pulls game face and starts to chase her.

Cordy runs frantically through the school screaming. Wesley hears her and follows the sound into the bathroom. He holds a cross and Holy water to her and she gets bored and leaves. Cordy hugs him in serious appreciation and then commences flirting. (double eww!)

Anya figures out Willow's game and Willow gives the signal. She screams at the top of her lungs. Buffy and Angel run in the front and Giles and Xander the back. They begin staking miscellaneous vamps and Willow punches Anya out. V. Willow shows and throws Willow into the drum set and starts to strangle her. Willow is choking for air and rasps for Buffy to help her. Buffy comes to her rescue and just before she stakes V. Willow, Willow screams no.

They go to the factory and are trying to perform the spell to send V. Willow back to her world. Willow says farewell and actually hugs her. (following the pattern...) But, that ends when V. Willow grasps for something she shouldn't. They form a circle send V. Willow back to her world... where she is instantly staked by Oz in the Wish scene.

Willow and Buffy are discussing the badness of being bad. Percy comes up and offers Willow an outline, two term papers, and a bibliography. He basically bows before her and does everything she wants. He even gives her an apple. They decide to go out that night. (thinking the world is backwards and deciding to go out instead of Willow staying home)

Review

****

I loved this episode!!! It was fantastic!!! The third best of the season behing The Zeppo and The Wish; possibly beating out The Wish in fact.

Of course Alyson Hannigon was amazing, as always. V. Willow was funny this time instead of slightly Drusilla like. But, Willow had all the best lines. Her thoughts about her alter ego being "evil and skanky" were great. But, I can only say that I had hoped that Willow pretending to be V. Willow would have been better. I wanted to see Willow really take over that personality. It still would have been funny with her waving to Oz, but better.

When I saw The Wish, I loved the scene at the end. But, I found myself wishing (no pun intended) that the whole Gang knew about their places in the other world and knew about killing each other, etc. But, everyway I could think of that would make this possible was tacky. Now, I have that closure and it was done tastefully. Just leave it to Joss...

That's about it unless you wanna hear about how hot I think Xander looked! Oh, yea. He needs a haircut!

NOTE:**pics are from The Wish and such until I can get pics from this episode.
