The Puppet Show

The gang stops by the library to tease Giles about his great misfourtune of being stuck minding the school talentless show. Snyder hears them and assigns them the task of creating their own talent show act. The first act they are forced to watch is Morgan and his dummy, Sid. Buffy announces the wig factor of dummies for her. Later, in the locker room, a young dancer is attacked by a demon who is ranting about being flesh.

Xander, Buffy, and Willow attempt to do a dramatic scene, but it doesn't seem to click. All of a sudden, the dummy Sid goes super horny on them and starts commenting about making the girls his conquest.

The dancer's body is discovered. Giles looks into it and tells the group that it was Emily and that the culprit was not a vampire. Her heart was removed. Their best guess is that it was a human, but Buffy is skeptical. She thinks demon. They go into interrigation mode.

Each gang member goes after a different talent show person. They all seem to point the finger at Morgan. They say that he kept rubbing his head and talking to his dummy.

Buffy reports to the auditorium to speak to Morgan. He doubles over in pain and the dummy lashes out at her when she tries to help. He almost pleads for her help, but the dummy looks at him. He leaves.

Buffy sticks to her demon theory, but Giles disagrees. He sends her to check Morgan's locker. She breaks in, but before she can find anything, Principle Snyder corners her. The dummy watches.

The dummy informs Morgan that they must kill Buffy so that he can be free. At Buffy's house, Joyce assures Buffy that she'll be at the talent show. Now, that terrifies Buffy. She goes into sleep mode.

A while later, she is suddenly awoken by a figure running across her room and trying to attack her. Buffy screams and her mother comes in to investigate.

Dress rehearsal is going nowhere, and Cordelia is complaining about her order in the talent show. He plays a trick on her and she runs off to the bathroom. Buffy saunters in and sheepishly tells them that Sid was in her room. They do not believe her. But, Giles has found a possible demon organ harvester.

In class, the teacher takes away Morgan's dummy because it won't stop talking. After class, Xander takes the dummy to prove to Buffy that it is just wood. Morgan goes looking for his dummy while. Xander pounds the dummy's head on a table to show his point. Willow and Giles go into the stacks while Xander watches Sid.

Buffy seeks alone time with Morgan, but doesn't find him. Instead, she is confronted by Principle Snyder. As soon as Xander realizes that Sid is gone, Buffy finds Morgan's body and is then attacked by Sid. She is pinned down by a falling chandalier prop and Sid comes at her with a butcher knife. She manages to free herself and corners him. They start accusing each other of being the organ harvester. Confusion ensues.

Sid explains that he's been cursed and has to hunt demons. Sid will be free of his curse if he kills the last demon. He is certain that the demon is in the talent show and Giles remembers that it is supposed to start. He gathers everyone together and expects that the demon will be missing. But, everyone is there.

Buffy wanders backstage and comes upon Morgan's brain, which has been rejected. She goes to the library Willow does computer research. Basically, Morgan had brain cancer. Now, the demon needs another healthy intelligent brain. They fear that it's after Willow, but then they realize that Giles is alone.

They rush to the stage and find Giles strapped into a guilliotene thingy and Marc the magician guy is about to cut off his head. At the last minute, Buffy tackles him and Xander catches the rope that is holding the guilliotene. Marc turns full demon and Buffy tries to fight him. Willow and Xander get Giles out and Sid attacks Marc. He pushes him into guilliotene and Xander lets go of the rope. Sid cuts out the demons heart and the dummy is lifeless. As the Scooby Gang stands over a mass of bodies, the curtain opens, and leaves the audience puzzled.

Xander, Buffy, and Willow try to do their dramatic scene, but they fumble their lines major. Then, Willow gets stage fright and runs off stage. Buffy and Xander remain, looking stupid.
