Snyder brings Buffy and another trouble maker, Sheila, to his office and tells them that they have to work together to pull off Parent Teacher Night. Buffy is not to pleased and tells Xander and Willow, then he brings up how nothing bad will happen. This starts up the jinx!
A new vamp strolls into town. He crashes through the welcome to Sunnydale sign and decides to make it his home. He approaches the annointed one and proclaims that his name is Spike and he will kill the slayer. His love, Drusilla, comes in and he loses his vampire face and turns sweet.
Buffy's mom discovers a note for parent teacher night and informs Buffy that she plans on attending. Buffy's mom doesn't want to be disappointed in her and they have a mother/daughter bonding like moment.
Willow and Buffy are working on a banner for parent/teacher night and Giles approaches Buffy with Miss. Calendar. He announces the Night of St. Vigious, and that it is Saturday. She pleads to have time to work on parent/teacher night before working on fighting. Snyder thinks that Sheila isn't helping, but she stumbles in.
Buffy and Willow go to the Bronze and try to study French while Buffy waits for Angel to show. They abandon French and the all dance with Xander. Spike watches her from the shadows, and then tells a buddy to go feed. Then, he plays the scared patron act and says that someone is trying to bite someone in the ally. Buffy runs out to fight him, and as she does, Spike observes her technique. She stakes him and Spike comes out of the shadows and tells her he will kill her on Saturday.
Sheila is out with some bad guys and they suddenly disappear on her. She calls for them and then comes face to face with Spike. He does the major flirting thing and leads her off.
Full research mode commences. They can't figure out Spike, and Angel comes in and tells them about him. He is throrough and will finish what he starts. Before they can learn anything, he runs off.
Spike takes Sheila to Drusilla and gives her to her for a meal. She bites her.
The gang whittles stakes while Buffy prepares refreshments for that evening. She makes punch and sets up the lounge. Her mother shows, and in order to keep her out of the way of Snyder, Willow has to show her all around school. Around nine o' clock, the evening is wearing down and her mother must meet Snyder. He takes her off to give a report.
Giles figures out that Spike's real name is William the Bloody and he has killed two slayers. Buffy's mom comes back and does not look pleased. Just as things can't seem to get worse, Spike crashes. They all scatter in different directions and Willow and Cordelia run into the utility closet. Buffy takes her mother to the science lab and they hide. They baracade the door and Snyder tries to get outside. But, Buffy takes charge. She goes into the ceiling tiles and crawls to the library.
Buffy gets weapons and goes to fight them and Xander has been sent to fetch Angel. Spike gets and axe in order to get her. Buffy crashes through the ceiling and comes across Sheila. Buffy doesn't realize that she is a vampire.
Xander comes back with Angel and they approach Spike, Xander under his arm with his fangs bared. They reminise and Angel offers Xander's neck.
Meanwhile, Buffy manages to figure out Sheila's game, so she attacks another vamp and Sheila runs off. Buffy goes to find Spike.
Spike figures out Angel's game and psyches him out. He punches him out and doesn't understand what is wrong with him. Angel and Xander run. Spike turns around and sees Buffy. They drop their weapons and go about it full force. He's about to bite her, but Buffy's mom comes up behind him hits him with an axe. She yells, "You get the hell away from my daughter!" . Spike leaves.
Everyone comes out of their hiding places and the cops show. Snyder confers with the police guy and they decide to say it was PCP. Everyone is happy and Buffy's mom is very proud of the way she stood up for everyone. But, Willow and Cordelia are still in the Utility closet and Willow is bored to tears with Cordelia's self talk.
Back at the factory, Spike goes up to the annointed and he is not pleased. Spike pretends to offer his life, but at the last moment he rises and goes off. He grabs the annointed one and puts him in a cage, raises it to the ceiling and the annointed is turned to dust by the sunlight.
