A Few Words From The Original Cast Members
The experience of being a part of Andrew Lane's "Revelations" is difficult to put into words.
Throughout the months of auditions, rehearsals and performances, I learned many new things. It was not only a journey in faith, but also a journey in communication, patience, co-operation, recognising each others talents and gratitude at being a part of a new production, a new concept, and new songs.
Auditions were held and I acquired a lead vocalist role. It was exciting to set foot in a recording studio where the cast recorded a CD. This was definitely a highlight of "Revelations". The stress, the adrenaline rush that comes from performing new new and exciting, as was working with the person who actually wrote the words and music, which was definitely something that I hadn't experienced before.
By far the most fantastic experience that I had during "Revelations" would be performing it. It was the most fantastic thing that I had ever experienced and I never got sick of it. Performing brough me that much joy that to miss out on just one show was heartbreaking.
Thanks to the experiences which the productions "Revelations" gave me, I am now currently in a new production of "Annie" and I place ot join as many productions as I possibly can.
It was a fantastic experience overall and I will never forget it.

Last year (1998) I was asked to take part in REVELATIONS, a production written and directed by Mr. Andrew Lane. I was asked to work backstage with the lighting and general organizing of the crowds. Saying “Yes” to this question may be the greatest decision of my life.
That decision gave me a chance to experience what it is like to work in a production overflowing with talent and professionalism. Not only was it a tremendous experience working in a production that was so well written with a extremely talented director, but it was period in my life that allowed me to become close to people who I would other wise associate with.
When production went from a small town production to touring around Victoria, it gave the me and I think the entire cast and crew a tremendous feeling that we on to something that was not only good but that the production had what it takes to make it even at the ‘raw’ stage of little props, limited lighting and reasonably inexperienced cast and crew.
But as they say all good things must come to a end and so the production ended with a local performance. I believe that REVELATIONS has the ability to go international with the help of a little funding, but for now it sits on the back burner, leaving the cast and crew with the hope that it will be revitalized. I personally am left with an experience that is hard to top and friendships that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

For the six to ninth months I was involved in "Revelations", I was unbelievably absorbed inthe show, never doubting the success destined for it.
For me, I gained a lot. I've never been an entirely Godly person, but the show opened a doos I never ventured into before. It took me to levels in myself I didn't know existed orginally.
I was placed in the choir of the show but then I was promoted to a lead role and understudy when one of the lead vocalists injured herself.
For me, this was an unbelievable opportunity; to sing music written to challenge the vocal chords. This was something I've never had to do. I gained a lot of self confidence which has helped me singing in a band I'm currently in.
This musical is a very talented piece of work. Even audience members who may not be into Church or the bible are able to get involved and really enjoy the show.

During the year of 1998, I had the privilege of being involved in the musical "Revelations". In my final year at secondary college, being associated with this spectacular event was the highlight of my school year.
To be given the chance to audition for such an exciting project was a great opportunity. After performing extra curricular activities such as recording the CD, the self-confidence was oozing, and the friendships with other students and teachers involved in the musical were many.
The students' input was values throughout the performances of "Revelations", and this is what made the result such a positive one. It is difficult to remain focused for 8 months, but the variations for each show meant that each performance was different to the previous one, making the whole production a new experience every time we performed.
Mr Andrew Lane, a first year teacher, made a huge impact on the school and everyone involved in the production. By creating the enthusiasm that will be difficult for anyone to recreate, we made much more of an impact than we ever thought possible. An awareness was created by the production, because it was a new musical about a theme that rarely gets this musch coverage, let alone is attempted by students with such enthusiasm.
After three shows in Nathalia, the hometorn of the St. Mary's college, four tour shows were sceduled for surrounding districts. The live shows were great experiences. With the Revelations signs decorating the buses, people advanced us on the streets asking about the show. Setting up in the church venues was great, as was meeting the parish priest and parish ladies, who catered for our every need.
After the shows, we were approached by adoring fans to sign CD's and programs, which instilled great pride in the cast members. Throughout the entire show dates, the cast members were constantly meeting new and old members of the community.
The experience of being a main role in the musical "Revelations" was an invaluable one. After a disappointing 1997, "Revelations" in 198 made Year 12 so much more memorable. I would recommend anyone to never surpass the opportunity to participate in the musical "Revelations" and if given the chance, I would think aobut doing the same all over again.
