Cedar Point Trip Report 6/17-6/19/99

We reserved a site at Cedar Point’s "Camper Village". Cost was $38, which included electric hookup, charcoal grill, and use of the bath/shower house. There are NO sites with water or sewer hookup. Also, there are no open camp fires allowed.

We arrived before dark, which made setup much easier. We then took a walk around the campground and "Soak City". I noticed an Apache hard side near the front of the campground and also a Sprinter 29’ Class A motorhome. The Apache was of interest, since I own a softside Apache. The Sprinter was interesting because, I had made an offer on a Sprinter in April.

Friday morning we entered Cedar Park just before 9:30. We walked up to the Raptor and got in line. We were on and off the Raptor before 10:00 a.m.. When then rode the Blue Streak, Cedar Downs, Wild Cat, Iron Dragon, Mantis, and then the Corkscrew. We headed back to the camper for lunch and a 15 minute nap.

Fresh and ready for more, we went straight to Magnum. This is the best sit down roller coaster I’ve ever been on. We then rode an assortment of other rides, including Mean Streak and the Giant Ferris Wheel.

We saw a 70’s musical show at the Red Garter Saloon. They did different songs from the 70’s. Then they dressed up like the Brady Bunch. They called Amanda up and said she was Mrs. Brady. She had to answer a couple of questions. The first was who was Alice’s boyfriend, what was his name, and what did he do. She remembered "Butcher" pretty easily, but had to think about "Sam"? (Funny because my name is Sam)

We passed on the Power Tower and Disaster Transport because the lines were just too long. We also missed the Gemini, it was broken for part of the day and we just missed it. Otherwise, we hit all the big rides.

We headed back to the camper around 7 p.m. We then drove into town to get some supplies and check out the area. We found a public park on the waterfront and took some pictures.

Back at the campground, we took another walk around. Then it was time for a charocal fire for some toasted marshmallows. The noises from the amusement park, and then the go-cart track will keep you up until at least 11 p.m.

Saturday morning, we had breakfast and went to the beach for awhile. Then back to the campground for lunch. We packed up and headed for home just after Noon.
