Biography: His father, Marquis Cerveza was a great luchador in Mexico,
before his Heart Attack at age 38. Ramon was young, only 12, but decided to keep the Cerveza legacy going by becoming a wrestler. Cerveza trained under the wing of his uncle, Maudo Cerveza, a local Mexican wrestler. He trained with his uncle until the age of 17 when he decided to go to Texas. With his uncle's training, he learned how to use his quickness & agility to execute submission holds faster and longer on his opponents.
With the style of texas wrestling, this ability was key to his success.
His last match with an independant wrestling promotion, Cerveza executed a twirl-a-whirl Piledriver, which was banned in those days. He won the match, and the approval from the fans, by being known as a daredevil to Wrestling Promoters, and even as a face, a 'Loose Cannon'.
When he was 17 he went to Texas, and wrestled in the now the defunct TMC. He wrestled with a few local stars, and after only two weeks, became the TMC Regional Champion, befeating a young Kerry Von Erich. Kerry was only 19 at the time, and soon after moved up to the NWA. Ramon lost the title 6 months later, and soon after moved down to Argentina, becoming AWC Cruiserweight Champion. Cerveza dropped the title to Mondo Javeline, a local star, but regained the title a short time later.
When the AWC folded 9 months later, Cerveza, still champion, took the title to Japan, where he beat Rey Jeran, then the J-Cup Champion, adding the AWC Title into the mix. Cerveza held the J-Cup for only 13 days,
losing it to a young Owen Hart!!
Cerveza took some time off, before returning to America after 3 years after last wrestling in America. He was scouted by the VWF, Virginia
Wrestling Federation. He didn't last long, because his style wasn't
familiar in the Eastern parts of America. Cerveza returned to Mexico,
where he signed on Mr. Marvelito to be his manager.
After 3 months of rest & training, Cerveza was signed by the NACW. He became wildely respected in the NACW, a huge East Coast Promotion based out of North Carolina. Cerveza beat a 360 lbs. wrestler named Rudolph Bryson, for the NACW World Heavyweight Title, his first. He held the title for a respectable three weeks, before he became entangled in a scandal. An old promoter, came forward saying Cerveza owed his a huge amount of money, because Cerveza hadn't worked any dates in his contract. The NACW was forced to buyout his existing contract, and pay the Promoter a large sum of
money. Cerveza, still saying he was innocent, was also forced to vacate
the NACW World Title, because of a rule that the World Champion must not
have any outstanding contracts with other promotions. Cerveza quit the
NACW, and this brings us to present day.
