Ephriam Latham

Ephriam Latham was born 1838 Jackson County, Alabama and died 30 Aug 1893 in Washington, DC. He buried in Arlington National Cemetery Section 1 Grave 713. Ephriam was a son of Jonathan and Elizabeth Ball Latham.

Ephriam Latham was mustered into the Confederate Army 17 Sep 1861 as a Sgt. in C apt. Mead's Co., 26th. Regiment Alabama Infantry, Co. C-50th. Alabama. On 30 Sept 1861 he was appointed junior second Lieutenant.  Deserted as Lt. in June 1863 and joined Union Army as Capt. of Co. A 1st Tennessee & Alabama Independent Vidette Cavalry 28 Aug 1863. He served as a Captain in this unit until he was discharged.
