The South West is noted for its surf beaches and bays. Also there are fantastic caves to explore such as Mammoth, Lake and Jewel Caves and inland you will reach the softer beauty of forests of Karri, the world's third tallest tree, carpets of wildflowers in Spring, wooded landscapes and vineyards.
Margaret River is known as a holiday resort due to the swimming and fishing. Leeuwin-Naturalist National Park combines a scenic coast with spring wildflowers and jarrah forests. The sheltered waters of Geographe Bay are ideal for water sports and the fishing grounds yield crayfish and salmon.
In the Yallingup area, fishing and the surf beaches are said to be some of Australia's best. Where as set on the slopes of Hardy Inlet and overlooking Blackwood River, Augusta is Australia's most south-westerly town and one of the oldest settlements in Western Australia.
