CHRISTIANS UNITED MINISTRIES, INC...HIS MINISTRY OF PRAYER |
In Jesus there is Hope, Peace, Love and Healing By: Diana Shutt In May of 1993 my world came crashing down around me filling me with despair and hopelessness. A devastating divorce took everything I thought was important in my life. My business, my home, money, friends, and then almost my life. I was so lonely and lost that I contemplated suicide. I felt all hope for my life ever changing was completely gone. |
tithe and I will bless you, read my Word and I will feed you. I have been lonely, but not alone. God’s word says, “I will be with you always.” In Phil 4:19 it says “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Not some, but ALL. |
by: Jan Hicks What is Easter to you? Easter egg hunts, the dyeing of eggs, a pretty new outfit, a day with the family on a picnic? OR ….do you spend it with your heart and mind on the one who gave HIS life so we might have eternal life? Jesus Christ. What happened on the day of resurrection? What did Jesus mean when he spoke those seven Last Words ... for they know not what they do." Luke 23:34 Do we know just what we are doing? Do most of us operate in ignorance? Do we often offend and injure others? On that day, the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, were the Roman soldiers unknowing participates? Did they ignore the voices declaring that Jesus was the son of God, our Savior? Are we listening for the voice of the Son of God today? Jesus looked down from the cross and asked his Father to forgive those soldiers. Jesus still looks down at our behavior and says, "Father, forgive them for they don't know what they are doing." |
In Luke 23:43 - And He said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise." There were two thieves on crosses that day. One on each side of Jesus. One thief mocked Jesus while the other humbled himself and said, "Jesus remember me when you come into your kingdom." Both died, but one was given eternal life. Do we mock Christ by our lack of faith or do we humble ourselves to receive eternal life? I read recently that ‘we are the only hands and feet God has on earth.’ As Jesus watched his mother and his friend tormented by his death, did He long to hold them and comfort them? I‘m sure He did, that is His compassionate heart. The nails in His hands prevented him, so He called them to turn to each other, to be the arms He longed to wrap around them. Perhaps in the absence of the physical body of our Lord we too should turn to each other as parents, children, brothers and sisters and comfort each other in the name, love and compassion of Jesus Christ. Jesus gave an example for us to follow. May this season, holiday, turn our eyes and mindset to be more like Him. May we learn to be His arms and feet to fill each day with the compassion He shared. |
