Following is a Schedule of Professional fees, adopted October 1, 1951, by the Sumter County (Alabama) Medical Society:

Office Visit - $2.00

Out of town call - $1.00 per mile for first 7 miles / then 50 cents per mile

Local house call - day $3.00, night $4.00 and $5.00

Penicillin injection - $2.00 in addition to office visit charge

Other hypodermic injections - $2.00

Intravenous injection - $2.00

Minor surgery, cuts, per stitch - $1.00

Abscess - $4.00

Labor case, normal - $50.00

Labor case, instrumental - $50.00

Consultation - $5.00

Fracture - $25.00

Dislocation - $10.00

Transfusion - $10.00

Urinalysis, complete - $2.00

Urinalysis, partial - $1.00

Sedimentation rate - $3.00

Blood count - $4.00

Spinal tap - $5.00

Circumcision - infant $10.00, adult $15.00

Xray, small - $5.00

Xray, large - $10.00

Cautery cervix - $5.00 to $10.00

Tonsillectomy - $35.00

Electrocardiograph - $10.00

BMR - $7.50

HOSPITAL CHARGES:

Room, colored, per day - $5.00
