The Christ Style Life

A Statement of Purpose

There is much said today about alternate lifestyles, but little is said about what may have been one of the earliest alternate lifestyles. It is not about some unusual sexual preference. It is communal in nature, though not always a commune. It is an extended family. It has nothing to do with drugs, though it brings peace that passes understanding and expands the mind to levels that man can only dream of otherwise. It does not deal in magic, but possesses some of the most powerful formulas for altering our own lives and the world around us. We are speaking of a truly extraordinary lifestyle, The Christ Style Life.

It is the intention of this E-zine to deal not only with the “rules and regulations” of Christianity, but also with the ethics of The Christ Style Life. In the words of the apostle Paul, “whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise,” we will “think on these things.” (Philippians 4:8, KJV).

We will appeal to number of different translations which will be noted by abbreviations as in the previous citation. Although “the law of Jehovah is perfect” (Psalms 19:7, ASV), translations are not. All have a few shortcomings, and a few have many. For this reason, we will occasionally appeal directly to the Greek or Hebrew.

This E-zine should not be accepted as gospel truth. As already noted, only the original word of God is perfect. All others, including this editor and any other writers for this periodical, are subject to error. You should be like the Bereans, “for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.” (Acts 17:11, NIV). If it was wise to check the words of the apostle, we most certainly need to be checked!

All comments and corrections will be appreciated. If we find that we have erred, such errors will be corrected. However, we must be fully persuaded in our own mind before such changes are made (Romans 14:5, KJV).
