Where I Came From:
Born in the 50's in a small town in the Mississippi Delta located on the Yazoo River (Indian name = River of Death) where the news was: cotton is up, soybeans are down. It's claim to fame now is Catfish Capitol of the world. My heritage is unknown. Family surnames include Pritchard, Rule, Vowell, Sanders.
Family: I am the 3rd of 7 children. I have 3 wonderful brothers and 3 wonderful sisters. I lost one of my brothers recently and find he is still ever with me. My Father is deceased. My mother still lives in the little Mississippi town very near to where she was born. I have one daughter who resides on the Mississippi Gulf Coast with her husband and two children.
Pets: 9 lb Terrier Mix, my best friend. I once had a passion for birds but have lost them all now. They are complex, vain, fascinating creatures who require a lot of attention and are quite capable of loving humans if they are raised by them.
Interests: Photography, Digital Art, Web Surfing, Computing, Cooking, Music (Classical, Blues, Jazz, Soft Rock, Oldies), Symphony, Ballet, Opera, Theater, Movies. Reading - not much fiction anymore. Mostly life based. I love to visit the library. I enjoy committing my thougts to paper. You never know when you might have one that is worth something.
Religion: Christian, but not cookie cutter Christianity. I'm an independent thinker and rarely agree with anyone completely on doctrine or theology. I am constantly evolving into my true nature and so, I have to change my thoughts and beliefs as I progress. I have studied religion and philosophy extensively. I no longer argue religion or politics. I believe religion is a personal matter and that the creator speaks to us through conscience, nature, our individual experiences, our relationships with others and in direct proportion to our humble and heartfelt desire to have unity and harmony with all of life. Humility is the most under-rated and most misunderstood attitude on the planet. I do not differentiate between the earthly and the divine. When the divine manifests itself in my life, my view of the earthly is transformed by that glory. I am so completely overwhelmed by the complexity and diversity of life and the amount of engineering it took to build me. As the psalmist says, I will praise thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I am confident that the creator is very wise indeed. Life is intelligently ordered. Man's inhumanity to man will not destroy my belief in a loving creator. Nature's seeming mistakes and obsession with the survival of the species at the expense of the individual will not destroy my belief in health and eternal life.
Relationships:
It's sad that people enter into relationships which do not honor the individual expression of each person. Conflict results from attempting to forge relationships. A relationship should develop naturally, with the understanding that comes from mutual life experiences and similar internal roadmaps. People who are not right for each other become like caged animals. Neither is to blame for the failed relationship. Relationships cannot be artifically made and can never be controlled. Expectations for oneself rather than wishes for the other kill divine love. I thrive on romance and wish everyone could find the joy and fulfillment of romantic love.
Advice:
It seems people are always confiding in me or asking for my advice. I always say, "You have to decide for yourself." I do not like the words "If I were you." I have no problem stating my code of ethics or beliefs and always have an illustration or two. But people don't really need advice in their personal lives. They will make their own mistakes and learn from them. People are like flowers, blossoming in the loving space you allow them to become themselves.
Friends and Social Acquantences: I value friends and social acquaintences. I love to interract socially.
Aspirations: To be the best I can be, whatever that is. I won't know until the avenue opens. I have no preconceived notions about the road ahead other than it will be better than the one behind. I have great potential. I hope to never stop growing or learning. I would love to travel. I've been to Europe twice and would love to return. I would love to see this beautiful planet, it's land and it's cultures.
