First and foremost, WEBRIOT was excellent! After Happy Hour was canceled I went into a deep depression. I couldn't function! I would sit in front of the TV a stare. Nobody could get me to leave the house. Sometimes my friends would come to visit they would try to lure me out of the house with promises of karaoke, berry gatherings, and basic frolicking. Their attempts were fruitless.
Then one day as I sat on the couch wearing my pajamas and teddy bear slippers I noticed my computer just sitting there collecting dust. My bones creaked as I stood and walked towards it. I realized It was time I had some human contact. So I turned on my computer and watched You, Dweezil and the Bombshells dance all over my desktop! No, I wasn't hallucinating, I still had my HAPPY HOUR screen saver!
After that discovery I had to have more so I began to search. I typed in Ahmet Zappa. What did I see? Children of the Corn V: Field of Screams. It was then that I realized I must leave the house. I absolutely had to get to a video store. I went to three video stores in a desperate search for the one thing that could take away these blues and not one of them had a copy.
That just threw me into a deeper depression. There was a cheesy horror flick out there, with You in it and my eyes were denied the privilege of a little peeksy.
An entire week went by and it's all I could think about I scoured ebay for a used copy but to no avail. Finally when I was going through my wallet to pay the pizza boy I noticed an old video card from a town 45 mins away. My heart began to race as I gave that pizza boy a 2.00 tip. I had to thank him in some way for helping me discover what could be a modern day miracle. I picked up the phone and dialed that long distance number that would either boost my spirits or send me into a deeper downward spiral and I almost fainted when the overly friendly voice on the other end of the phone said "Yes, we have one copy!"
Thank you Ahmet for giving me a reason to live. Since that wonderful evening when I saw you breath life into that blow up doll I've actually began to live a little. I can go pick up pizza now, I don't have to have it delivered! And I can now go to the video store, no problem! In fact I rented JACK FROST recently and let me just say, you drive a mean snow plow! It looked so real that I even felt a slight wintry chill.
I'm still a little ways away from being completely rehabilitated. I mean HAPPY HOUR was a grrreat show but I know that with WEBRIOT airing 5 times a week, within no time I'll be me again. Till then, I'm taking it one day at a time.
Thanks again,
Guru Catherine
