"Hello?" Katrina said, answering the phone.
"Trina!! Hey girl!" Brian said enthusiastically.
"Brian! How are you?"
"I'm good. I haven't talked to you in like a month. How is Kase?"
"Oh she is fine! You just had a birthday huh?"
"Yeah, well your daughter did too! Thats funny how we have the same birthday! And yesterday was your birthday! What are you now 21?"
"Yep! Your getting up there too, now that you are 27!"
"Shut up, don't rub it in!"
"Mommy, mommy is dat daddy?" Kasey said, running to her mother, and sitting on her lap.
"No sweetie its Uncle Brian. Can you tell him happy birthday?" Katrina said to her now 2 year old daughter.
Kasey took the phone out of her mothers hand, and said, "Hello Uncle Brian!"
"Hi sweetie! How are you?" Brian asked.
"Ok, I want say happy birthday! Is my daddy there?"
"Yeah, do you want to talk to him?"
"Can I please?"
"Sure, hang on a sec, I'll get him….NICK!!! GET THE PHONE ITS YOUR DAUGHTER!!" he yelled.
Nick reached over, and picked up the phone. "Kasey?"
"Daddy!! Oh miss you! Can you see me?" she said. Katrina smiled down at her. She was smiling, and she had Nick's smile. Her eyes were a deep blue, just like both of theirs, and her hair curly and blonde.
"Can I talk to mommy sweetie? I want to see when I can see you again…"
"Ok daddy.. Love you…"
"I love you to Kase…"
Kasey handed the phone to her mother. Then she laid back in Katrina's arms, and shut her eyes.
"Nick?"
"Hey baby. I missed hearing your voice for a week. How are you doing?"
"I'm ok… I missed you too…but I have some good news!"
"What is that?"
"We are moving back to Florida; me, Laura, and Kase. Maybe only for the summer or it could be permanent."
"Well you know I have the summer off…." Nick's voice changed and it became very serious. "Katrina, baby, when you come down here, do you think that there is a way we can get back together, and you know, raise our baby together?"
A smile formed on Katrina's face, as she gently stroked her daughters soft hair. "Nick…I thought that you would never ask me….you know, I still have our ring…."
"I know. I put it on your finger the night that you left Florida, and well, are we still engaged or are we going to have to start over again?"
"I dunno Nick. When I get down there we can talk about this ok? But for right now, Laura wants to talk to her boyfriend…."
"Oh baby you have to go?"
"Yea, I'm sorry but I have too…."
"Well, I love you and I guess I'll call you in about a half hour?"
"Nick!! Ok, if you want. Love you too…bye sweetie…"
Katrina put her hand over the receiver, and yelled, "Laura your boyfriend is on the phone!!"
She heard Laura pick up, then she hung up.
"Hello?" Laura spoke into the phone.
"Hey sexy…" Brian said, smiling. Nick rolled his eyes at him.
"Hey babe! How are you?"
"I'm good…so I hear you guys are moving down here…"
"Yep, you heard right…"
"This is going to be wonderful. Finally I can sleep with you at night, and hold you in my arms, and kiss you when I want and-"
"I know I know Bri. Look I don't want to run up your telephone bill you I will just see you in a week or so ok?"
"Alright, I love you…"
"Love you to hunnie. Bye…"
Laura hung up the phone a huge smile on her face.
