Survivors include his wife, Deborah B. Wilson of Duncanville; his daughter, Julia W. Ruttka (Michael) of Birmingham; his son, James H. Wilson, III of Duncanville; his brother, Jerry W. Wilson (Linda) of Tuscaloosa; his mother, Mildred J. Fielder; and his grandchildren, Slate Wilson, Mackenzie J. Ruttka, and Lydia A. Ruttka.
Jimmy was born to James and Mildred Wilson in 1946. He married Deborah Beasley in 1968 and then served in Vietnam. He and Debbie raised their two children, Jimbo and Julia. He served with dignity and honor in the Tuscaloosa Fire Department for 30 years. He continued to work and help members of the Tuscaloosa community while working at the Tuscaloosa Housing Authority until the time of his death. He was very active with his graduating high school class (Black Bears – 1964). He enjoyed working on his home, riding his Harley, and spending time with the joys of his life – his grandchildren, Slate, Mackenzie, and Lydia.
Pallbearers are Tuscaloosa Fire Department – Dan Burroughs, Kenny Newton, Joe Burroughs, Gary Truhett, Jay Ford, Brett Garrett, Eric Neil, and Richey Schooler.
