GORDO | Samuel Jackson "Jack" Sanders, age 57, of 14175 County Road 2, died May 22, 2003, at his residence. Services will be held Sunday, May 25, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. from Bethesda Presbyterian Church. Dr. Vernon Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery. Visitation is tonight from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service. Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.

Survivors include wife, Sandra K. Sanders, Gordo; daughter, Lane Sanders Reese, Tuscaloosa; son, Scott Sanders, Tuscaloosa; brothers, Jerry Sanders (Eleatha), Tuscaloosa; Mack Sanders (Rita), Gordo.

Mr. Sanders was born October 15, 1945 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama to the late Robert Bonner and Agnes Christian Sanders. He was a member of the Alberta Baptist Church, a retired lab technician with the U.S. Bureau of Mines, a bus driver for the Pickens County Board of Education and a retired staff sergeant with the U.S. Army Reserves.

Pallbearers will be Danny Smith, Jimmy Gray, Bert Craft, Lee Craft, Bual Tubbs and Dual Tubbs.

Honorary pallbearers are Benevola Buck Club, Pickens County School Bus Drivers and former employees of U.S. Bureau of Mines.
