Bowhunters of Alabama Constitution


Article I - Name: The name of this organization shall be: Bowhunters of Alabama, Inc.

Article II - Objectives: The purpose of this organization shall be to foster, expand and perpetuate: (1) The use of bows and arrows in hunting all legal game and fish (2) the spirit of good fellowship among all bowhunters (3) in securing and maintaining laws and regulations pertaining to bowhunting which are consistent with biological data determined harvest quotas and which fully recognize the limitations in range of proper bowhunting equipment (4) the knowledge and adherence of all game laws, and (5) cooperation with all conservation organizations in the conservation of game, fish, water and hunting lands.

Article III - Membership: 1) Membership shall be granted to anyone, upon proper application and payment of regular dues and/or fees. Each application for membership must be approved by at least one current member in good standing. (2) The BHA State Executive Board may expel or suspend any member or Chapter by a 2/3 favorable vote of the Board if conduct is deemed detrimental to the interest of this organization.

Article IV - Administration: The affairs of this organization shall be governed by a board of Directors to be know as The State Executive Board, which will consist of the elected State officers and those past BHA State Presidents and Secretary/Treasurers who attend at least one (1) Board meeting during each fiscal year. (The State Executive Board retains the right to waive this requirement under extenuating circumstances), and one (1) elected representative of each Chapter. The Chapter representative will be allowed one (1) vote for each thirty (30) members or fraction thereof and may compound those votes until a maximum of four (4) votes is achieved. No additional recognition in voting will be given in excess of one hundred twenty (120). Chapters must be present at first two (2) meetings to vote a t BHA State Convention.

Article V - Amendments: This Constitution may be altered or amended by 2/3 favorable vote of the current members in good standing in attendance at a BHA, Inc. State Convention. Any proposed amendments to this Constitution must be submitted in writing by a Board member at any State Executive Board meeting and discussed, and then tabled. It will be raised and voted at the BHA State Convention.
