Construction of my E-Plane
(from JK Aerotech)
Here it is outta the box (the spinner & prop were'nt included):
Of course, I decided to modify the kit as soon as I got it outta the box.
I wanted to duplicate the motor mounting technique I've used with other JK Aerotech planes - using Coroplast fuselage doublers and nylon cable ties to mount the motor - so I cut off part of the fuselage and created my own fuselage doublers:
I thought cutting the fuselage as shown would give the nose of the E-Plane a more streamlined appearance while moving the position of the motor away from the fuselage for better balancing options. Hmmm.
Before spraying the fuselage, I did the following:
Time to glue the wing into place I carefully taped a few encyclopedias together - it worked great - I used silicone glue:
Here is the E-Plane ready to have everything installed:
Here is the E-Plane getting the servos, RX, ESC & motor installed.
I'm putting in a 480 motor instead & I'm using a different ESC - probably a Castle Creations Pegasus 35.
More to follow - someday. I really don't like the color scheme for this plane - very lame - I must've been in a way bad mood when I selected the fuselage color. I'm thinking of doing it over again. Yuk!
