Learn How To Play The Guitar
(according to me, of course)
Everyone can learn how to play the guitar. I learned how - it was fun. I am still learning. Many professional guitarists are still learning - many even continue to take lessons!!!
What do you need to know first? My point of view deals mostly with playing electric guitar, so if you're into acoustic, or classical these pointers may not help you.
You'll need the right equipment:
* Electric guitar
* Amp or similar device
* A few picks
* A strap
* A tuner
* Extra set of strings
* A cord to connect your guitar to your amp
Getting a good guitar is vital. Spending a lot of money for one is not necessary. One of my favorite guitars is also one of my cheapest guitars - I paid $60 for it & to this day, I still love this guitar (click on this link for more info)
Buying a guitar is an important decision - several factors determine what makes a suitable guitar, including, but not limited to the following:
* Cost
* Playability
* Sound
* Features
* Hardware
* Materials & workmanship
* Longevity
* Aesthetics
* Other considerations
Let's first talk about cost - you can get a great playing, decent quality & great sounding guitar for less than $200 - really. Though many guitars look the same to the inexperienced guitarist, there can be many differences between them. There are so many guitars to choose from these days it's easy to select a great guitar, or for the same money, get a piece of crap.
