Eagle is a three-masted barque with 21.350 square feet of sail. She serves as a seagoing classroom for cadets and instructors at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. One of five sister ships built for training in Germany in the 1930s, Eagle (originally Horst Wesel) was included in reparations paid to the United States after World War II. |
