Glossary of Terms

CAPing:
Short for Cut and Paste. This term is used to describe messages containing large amounts of unoriginal material, even if it was not "Cut and Pasted" into the message from another source.

Capper:
A wizard that uses unoriginal material in his messages. See CAPing.

Centurion:
A wizard above level 100. Specifically, in The Ri Shoo Reporter, centurion is used to describe a Blue wizard above level 100 only.

Climbing Team:
A Group of wizards that form an alliance to share answers to questions, or united to gain political power. Examples of Climbing Teams you may find on Pyroto are: The Pyro-Maniacs, The Cliffhangers, and The Cabal.

Elders:
Wizards who have been in the land for some time, and have taken it upon themselves to help new wizards become used to Pyroto. Note that other Mountains may use a different term to describe their "Elders," however, they would serve the same function.

Flatlands:
The "real world."

Formal Warning:
A CoE warning sent as a message on the message boards by itself. A formal warning shall have as it's subject line "Formal Elder Warning for (Wizard), (Offense)." It shall detail the offense, reasoning behind the rule, and consequences of continued infraction of the rule. The message shall also contain a link to the CoE Decree so that the Wizard may read and understand the other rules of Ri Shoo.

Informal Warning:
An CoE warning sent for first or low level offenses. These are sent in contacts (if available) or as a small footnote to a post.

Majority:
As in a majority of votes, whatever item receives 50% + 1 of the total votes that could have been cast.

Manna:
Magical energy used to power spells.

Manna Cow:
A wizard who's primary function is to bestow Manna on other Wizards.

Minion:
An extra wizard you may create in the event that your wizard is drained into negs. A minion may only be used to appeal your case to the Elders of your mountain, and may not advance past Santification. More can be read concerning minions in the Scroll, Your Faithful Minion. See also: Test Wizard.

Patience:
The amount of time TSOTL permits you to visit the Land.

Pentacenturion:
A wizard above level 500.

Pinhead:
A wizard at level 512. The connotation of this term is sometimes negative.

Pinnacle:
The top of a Mountain, level 512. Also used to describe a wizard at level 512.

Plurality:
As in a plurality of votes, whatever item receives the most votes.

Power Climbing:
What happens when your Esteem score is 103 points above your current level and you Acend successfuly. TSOTL, pleased with you, will grant you two times your current level in additional Manna.

Pyro-Maniac:
A member of the Pyro-Maniacs climbing team founded by Synergy. See also: Climbing Team.

Pyrotoholic:
Someone who can't live without a daily dose of Pyroto. i.e. someone who sets the timer on their watch for four hours every time they log in.

Ranker:
The high level wizards in control of a Mountain. The connotation of this term is somtimes negative. See also Elders.

Santification:
What happens to your wizard when he advances to level 16.

Smurf Stories:
Messages posted on message bands that are of no intrest to anyone. See also: Spam.

Spam:
A junk message. Examples would be: A message where the same word or phrase is repeated over and over again, or a message trying to sell something. See also: Smurf Stories.

Spells:
A power your wizard posseses in Pyroto. Spells can be used to communicate with other wizards (Read, Send), learn more about the land (Survey, Scrolls), or attack another wizard (Demote, Drain). The use of all spells requires Manna.

Test Wizard:
A wizard created for the purpose of taking the Plains for a Test Drive. The same rules regarding minions also apply to test wizards. See also: Minion.

TSOTL:
Short for The Spirit of the Land. You must discover TSOTL yourself.

Wizops:
Those who created and maintain Pyroto Mountain. Some wizops you might encounter in your travels include: TIM, Servant of TSOTL and Wizzy, Servant of TSOTL. A wizop will always have "Servant of TSOTL" tagged behind his name.
