“Casting Down Imaginations”

Introduction:

Have you as a Christian recognized the battle in your mind?

We in fact have an enemy whose immediate purpose is to defile and destroy us with his lying “imaginations” shot into our minds, to tempt us. These thoughts are able to rob us of the joy of our unshakable union with the Lord. The Devil’s desire is to place a wedge between us and the Lord and His purposes. That wedge is the self-condemnation that can follow when he tempts unknowing believers to fail.

Thankfully, God has provided Jesus’ shed blood to free us from the penalty sin and “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ” (Rom 8:1)

Jesus Christ’s death is in FACT the believer’s death, and Jesus’ resurrection life is in FACT the believer’s new indwelling life (Rom 6:3-4)… has freed them from the power of the Sin nature that would tempt them and then accuse them.

“For the law (the operative power) of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law (the operative power) of our new being] has freed me from the law (the operative power) of sin and of death.” (Romans 8:2)

This series is to address and define the issues of “temptation,” and the way that the Apostle Paul offers us for victory over Sin’s temptation to all manner of sins.
