Part 3 of 8

Our Organic Union with the Lord

“And God made the beast of the earth AFTER HIS KIND, and cattle AFTER THEIR KIND, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth AFTER HIS KIND: and God saw that it was good.” (Genesis 1:25)

Webster’s Dictionary defines “organic” as “that which relates to, or derived from a living organism,” This would then apply to animal, vegetable, man, and God as the progenitor of His life. All life-forms reproduce “after their (own) kind.” It’s quite a simple truth; that all species will reproduce “after their own kind.” This of course contradicts the idea of the evolution of species, which in the end was renounced by Darwin himself. But more importantly, it means the truly reborn children of God, born of His “Spirit of life in Christ Jesus,” are of the “same kind” or the same species” as God their Father.

The reproduction of every life form “after its kind” is also a clear picture of this spiritual reality. The physical created life we possess is a shadow of the spiritual reality, which is the eternal life every believer gains by the deposit of the “Spirit of Christ” into their human spirit. So, as we consider the physical life we can somewhat better see the implications of the spiritual union we have with God our Father as the progenitor of our new eternal spiritual life.

Christ within the believer is the literal spiritual “Seed” (Greek, sperma, 1Peter 1:23) of God the Father. Jesus came to be humanly incarnated through the line of Adam (see His lineage in Luke 3:38). Yet we also see Jesus’ spiritual lineage in Matthew 1:1 as in the line of Abraham to King David. Jesus was Abraham’s and God’s “One… (spiritual) seed” (Gal 3:16). God the Father’s one genuine life is multiplied through Jesus as His Seed of life to “as many as received Him” (John 1:12). God’s life, via His Christ-seed, is reproduced within every believer exactly “after His (God’s) kind,” but also… with the added element of Christ’s experience of human living, suffering, dying, then being raised from the dead and ascending to the Father. These human experience elements of Jesus have been added to “the Spirit,” which is “the Godhead,” in Christ ( Col 2:9). These elements make God both divine and human, such that God can now “be touched with the feeling of our infirmities.” (Heb 4:15).

The visible and physical realm is temporary, but the unseen spiritual realm of “the Spirit of Christ” is eternal. Thus the spiritual rebirth of a believer is eternal and thus more literal and organic than their physical birth. Our rebirth is by receiving the divine eternal life of Christ – the real life! 2 Cor. 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the THINGS WHICH ARE NOT SEEN ARE ETERNAL.

God is the giver of His eternal life to His re-born children via His “One…seed, which is Christ (Gal 3:16) who now is “that Spirit” (2Cor 3:17). The “Spirit of Christ” first became available soon after Jesus was raised from the dead and had ascended to The Father. Jesus returned to “breath” upon His disciples, saying receive “ye the Holy Breath” (John 20:22). Note that the same Greek word, “pneuma,” is translated “spirit” and also “breath.” Thus, Jesus’ Holy Breath here is one and the same as “the Spirit of Christ” (Rom 8:9).

Coming to see and understanding our literal rebirth by God’s “One… Seed (Gk., sperma), which is Christ” is the most radical and powerful revelation a believing child of God can receive. In one revelatory moment we may come to realize that we as believers have become partakers of God’s literal life with His DNA by His “One…Seed, which is Christ.” With that revelation we then realize God really is our Father – not just “kind of like” our father. Seeing that God, in Christ, as “the Spirit of life,” really lives within us should bring an explosion of further revelations, joy, appreciation, and thankfulness to God our Father.

The Apostle Paul himself had just such a “revelation” of which he wrote; But when God… was pleased 16to REVEAL HIS SON IN ME…” (Galatians 1:15-16a). You might ask yourself, “Have I had a revelation of Christ living within me?” Such a revelation and realization will change your Christian life forever. Such people then know that they are first and foremost a literal born child of God the Father (1John 3:2). Paul accordingly writes of this living relationship wherein we as believers are “NO MORE A SERVANT but A SON” (Gal. 4:7). Having received this revelation, we no longer “work for the Lord as servants’ in order to gain or to earn favor. Our work is now given out of a pure heart, pure in motive; out of a new found love and appreciation for the Lord’s love and grace toward us.

How does Abraham bear upon God’s relationship with “the body of Christ”? Isn’t Abraham a Jew? No, Abraham is not and never was a Jew. The children of Israel came out of Abraham’s earthly “seed” 3 generations later. Yet, the matter of a “seed” has been in God’s plan from the beginning.

Have you noticed that since Adam’s fall in the Garden God’s promise to His people has concerned a “seed” that He would send? God promised Adam and Eve a “seed” that would come and “bruise his head,” the head of the Serpent. One would come to crush the headship of Satan over fallen humanity. Then also God promised Abraham a “seed,” through whom He would “bless all the families of the earth.” The birth of Jesus Christ was not only the product of God’s definite predetermined plan and purpose; it also followed a specific route in terms of His genealogical record that traced God’s Seed. Both of these promises of a “Seed” are fulfilled in Jesus; we see His lineage from Adam (Luke 3:23-38) that gave Him a human body of Mary, and also we His lineage as the promised One, which traces back to Abraham (Matt 1:1-2) and then through David as King of Israel to Joseph the husband of Mary, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit of God. God’s plan, like the blue print for the creation was formulated, formalized, and finalized long before the creation of the universe. Jesus was the genuinely both “the Son of God” and “the Son of Man. He was equipped with His Mary-body so He could suffer and die, and redeem us by the shedding of His blood for “the sin of the world” (John 1:29), then He was “raised again for our justification” (Rom 4:25). Then also His Royal lineage qualifies Him to be the real and eternal King of Israel.

Regarding God’s promise of Abraham’s seed being a “blessing to all the families of the earth,” Paul gives us more information as it relates to the members of “the body of Christ.”

Galatians 3:27-29 For as many of you as have been baptized (placed) into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And IF YE BE CHRIST’S, THEN ARE YE ABRAHAM’S SEED, AND HEIRS ACCORDING TO THE PROMISE.

Thus we today, as members of “the body of Christ,” having been baptized (fully placed) into Christ’s body, do not participate in God’s earthly promises to Abraham for Israel – but we are one with Abraham’s promised “One….SEED, which is Christ” (Gal 3:16).

Following the Satanically instigated Adamic fall, God set in motion His eternal plan. After the fall of Adam and Eve God told the Devil; “while you will in the interim bruise His (Jesus”) heel, He will in the finale crush your (the Devil’s) head” (paraphrased, Gen. 3:15). This verse reaches across the centuries and millennia past all of Jesus’ human progenitors, to the time when the “Son of Man,” having been born of Mary, will have completed His cross-mission and accomplish the will of the Father (John 10:18). Yes, Satan killed Jesus’ body of flesh, but He was raised from the dead by the Spirit of the Father (Acts 13:30, 34, 38; Rom 8:11). In so doing, Satan sealed his own fate. With Jesus’ “heel” having been bruised, the death nail for Satan was driven home. The Devil is defeated and his eternal destiny is sealed - to be “cast into the lake of fire.”

We are the children of God, birthed of His spiritual loins, born of His “Seed” into His literal family. Our organic relationship with God is by the Father’s very own life that is in His “One Seed,” which is Christ. Christ is one with the Father as the Father’s precious Seed (seed, Gk., “sperma,” Gal. 3:16, 1Pet. 1:23).

His life is now available as the Spirit-Seed of life (2Cor. 3:17, Rom 8:2) to be birthed into every human spirit (Zech 12:1b, Jn 3:6). God’s very own life with His DNA is in believers by their union with “the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus” (Rom 8:2). Jesus is “the life,” (John 14:6) now flowing the entire Godhead’s life (Col. 2:9) into us as our new life (Gal 2:20), thus Paul says; “ye are complete in Him” ( Col 2:10).
