Part 3 of 4 -

The Human Spirit is the Third and Most Vital Part of Mans Being

Hidden and obscured, there is an organ and faculty deeper within man than his soul - it has remained a mystery throughout all the ages. It is the unknown object of every seekers search for reality and satisfaction. It is far deeper than mans body and deeper than mans soul.

By yourself you could never find it. You could meditate in your mind but never find it. You could sit under a tree for hours in the sun or shade, make vows, ponder and clear your mind of every thought, recollect, concentrate, open up, hoping to be enlightened, whatever… still you would not find it. That is because the key to man is deeper than our soul and its mind.

Man is Tri-part in His Make-up.

1 Thes. 5:23 …I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless...

Herein is the key to answering our questions.

There is much misconception of the distinction between the soul of man and the spirit of man, in the world today, especially in the religious world yet there is a very great difference in their purpose and function.

Just as the life-giving marrow as the source of life is twice hidden in mans flesh and also then within the bone; hidden within the body and the soul of man is deeper part, it is the human spirit. The human spirit is so close to the soul, so encased by the soul that it is often mistaken for the soul, but it is not the soul. It is the spirit of man. Job 32:8 But there is a spirit in man: … Proverbs 20:27 The spirit of man is the candle (lamp) of the LordZech 12:1b …the spirit of man within him… Hebrews 4:12dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow…

Again and again comes the inner yearning, restlessness, a hunger for fulfillment. It is a desire that emanates from our unfulfilled human spirit. It is our empty spirit, as a living and yet empty container, that gnaws at us, desiring to be filled. If the human spirit is yet empty while generating this desire and hunger, what does it desire?

The human spirit was made principally to contain the very life of God Himself, to be filled with God. God placed that desire in mans human spirit that God and man might come to union.

All roads to this deepest part of your being have been cut off our self-effort cannot get you there… all roads wont work, but one - Only God Himself can get you there.

Man is never satisfied because his deepest part still remains to be filled with Gods very life and nature. Indeed, the very purpose and function of man is …to receive, and be filled with, the very life of God Himself. It is for this purpose that man, unique among creation, was created with a human spirit, the precise location and organ meant specifically to relate to and ultimately contain the very life of God who is The Spirit.

Oh yes, our bodies make us to be world conscious, and souls to have and communicate thoughts and have feeling, making us self-conscious…but we have a human spirit to be the correct organ to…receive… touch and… know God.

The mind is able to think, but only the spirit can contact, receive, and be filled with God as the fulfillment of mans desire and search for satisfaction by our spirit we have long desired completion. Col. 2:9-10 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10and (as a believer) you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.

God is Spirit, which in Greek, is pneuma, meaning, breath, air - available as the air enveloping you.

He is so available and so willing to fill the void that was created in mans spirit especially to contain Him. Jesus now is the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus (Rom 8:2, 2Cor 3:17a), and you have a human spirit these were made to go together - in you. 1 Cor. 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
