BLUE VAMP Ultrarare French Glam lp circa '73
this band was part of the french glam underground of the early 70s, another band they may have known were the FRENCHIES, who also had a GREAT lp which came out in '74, see our Gateway 1 for reviews of that one............as for BLUE VAMP....

this lp inside and out is a work of art, beginning with the lp cover our friend who bought it commented it looks like PETER MAX psychedelic art of the late 60s, as u can see it is unique, true to their Glam look the band's music is straight ahead glam rock circa 73; MARC BOLAN charm, N.y. DOLLS guitars, SLADE drums, and a sophistication that is all their own,
an original sound to say the least an lp with a tight band that plays really well, all of the song are in the hard glam rock vein, except for # 3 on side A 'EPHEBES', a very slow romantic sad song, the kind they don' t make anymore........the band had some singles too, u can see a rare one below -

1 ' LE SERPENT BLEU'
DOLLS styled rock opens the lp, strong bass, BOLAN styled vocals 'CHELSEA LE'.........( sorry but these 2 words were all we were able to decipher, were just uneducated americans, we don' t speak french, wish we did though then we could figure out all the lyrics....
2 'LADY BENTLEY'
this song is slower than the opener, it is RAW music, more in the style of SLADE,......
3 'EPHEBES'
'EN SOLEIL........' begins this BEAUTIFUL but sad song about long lost love, the message conveyed here is universal, you'll be able to notice that even if you don't speak french, this is different from the rest of the lp, this number being the ballad in an all rock lp, ......consider it the shining moment........
4 LA DECADE
T.REX charm, bit of FACES guitar which circles, loops......
5 'LE VEUVE NOIRE'
JOHNNY THUNDERS style guitar, T.REX/STONES rythm, drums snap, crackle, pop, this song which closes side 1 ROCKS OUT !
- lp side 2 - 6 'LE MICHETONNER'
BOLAN charm / SLADE rock, good song, but the next one is better.......
7 'MARILYN'
guitar begins slowly, ( 'shoo be doo wah........) bands quickly picks up and guitars wail away.........'SHOO SHOO BE SHOO BE DOO WAH, HEY BABY MARILYN, overall campy rock with good vocals, strong drums......
8 'LA FUREUR DE VIVRE'
DOLLS rock, hard guitars, cool 70s glam, one of the lp's best
9 L 'ESPIRIT DEL 'HOMME'
a b side the band chose for the closer, sounds a bit like junior league ALICE COOPER with the anger seething thru, allthough a lot tamer, guitar pattern woven thru, allthough it leaves the listener wanting for more from BLUE VAMP, perhaps that can be found on the flipside to this number, their single 'JOLLY DOLLY'.........

15 "Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.”
Christians tend to quote the first verse as proof that Jesus is the savior, and that's fine, but they rarely quote the verse next, which shows he will be a vegetarian.
Now, the question arises, what does the eating of butter and honey have to do with knowing how to choose between good and evil? It may surprise some to learn that throughout history there has been many Jews who followed vegetarianism. Their belief was that meat corrupted the soul of a persons. The Bible teaches that meat makes you "stumble," on a similar level to alcohol, thus corrupting the your heart.
Thus, notice the use of the word “it” (my emphasis), is used as singular. Jesus was offered fish and honeycomb, but took only one. He would eat butter and honey, instead of meat, so that his heart would not be corrupted.
