I Prayed For This Child (Courtney)
As my child, I believe you are here because
you have been given to me by God.
You came from His heart to our home as
a priceless gift- a gift I gave back to Him.
From the beginning your precious life
was placed in God’s hand, for keeping.
Since that time I have loved you,
enjoyed you, and prayed for you….
and I always will. I have always held one
special desire for you-that you would know
the One who made you, and loves you
even more than I. My prayer for you is that
you will serve Him with all you heart….
that you will daily trust in His faithfulness
and that you will always
find rest in His love.

Kisses in the Wind ( Brooke)
I hold you in my heart and touch you in my dreams.
You are here each day with me, at least that’s how it seems.
I know you wonder where we are….what’s taking us so long.
But remember my child, I love you so and God will keep you strong.
Now go outside and feel the breeze and let it touch your skin…
Because tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.
May God hold you in His hand until I can be with you.
I promise you my darling, I’m doing all that I can do.
Very soon, you’ll have a family for real, not just pretend.
But for tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.
May God wrap you in His arms and hold you very tight.
And let the angels bring you kisses that I send to you each night.

Stop telling God how big your storm is-
Instead tell your storm how big your God is!

Here is the test to find out whether your mission on
earth is finished: If your alive, it isn’t
---Richard Bach

Ask and it shall be given to you; seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who ask receives; he who seeks finds;
And to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8

Our Little One ( Brooke)
We feel sure you have been born. Our heart feels so torn.
We wonder what age you are today. Are you asleep, hungry, or at play?
Is somebody there to hold you tight, and give you a kiss each night?
We wish we were there to catch you when you fall,
Wipe your tears, and be there when you call.
My little darling how we long to see your face,
Your little almond eyes, and hands we would love to trace.
We blow you kisses every night. We know we will be together when the time is right.
We pray Gods angels will keep you from all harm.
We know soon, God will place you in our arms.
We love you little one.

Like cold water to a weary soul, is good news from a distant land. ~Proverbs 25:25

The Gift of Life
I didn’t give you the gift of life,
but in my heart I know
the love I feel is deep and real,
as if it had been so.
For us to have each other
is like a dream come true!
No, I didn’t give you the gift of life,
life gave me the gift of you

Of all the rights of woman, the greatest is to be a mother.--- Lin Yutang

Legacy of an Adopted Child
Once there were two women who never knew each other.
One you do not remember, the other you call Mother.
Two different lives shaped to make you one.
One became your guiding star, the other became your sun.
The first gave you life, and the second taught you to live it.
One gave you a nationality. The other gave you a name.
One gave you a talent. The other gave you aim.
One gave you emotions. The other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile. The other dried your tears.
One sought for you a home that she could not provide.
The other prayed for a child and her hope was not denied.
And now you ask me, through your tears,
The age-old question unanswered through the years.
Heredity or environment, which are you a product of?
Neither, my darling. Neither. Just two different kinds of love.

~A Red Thread to China~
A red thread to China was cast today
From us to a child so far away.
This thread symbolizes an attachment of hearts
That distance alone can’t keep us apart.

Her mother and I are caught in a chase
That time alone will bring us to face
This loving young child we want so much to greet
With love in our hearts before we did meet.

This tiny, thin thread may stretch, tangle or fray
But our love for her grows stronger each day.
Through the test of time it won’t break or sever
She’ll be part of us forever and ever.

With oceans between us, the distance is spanned
By a love that is greater than man could have planned.
For God in His mercy loved her and us
And decided our family would be a great plus.

So for now we’ll just love her and pray every day
That God keeps her and loves her for us till we may
Travel to China, that land of great past,
To the side of our daughter, to hold her at last.
