Title: Blue for Boys, Pink for Girls
Author: Bernie
Rating: a few kisses
Disclaimer: this is a work of fiction
Leah and Boyd Devereaux
Implied Lisa
and Steve Yzerman and Leah and Boyd
A/N's Ok, we were talking
about bad theme parties in chat, and Chrissy said "eighties night"
party for the wings would rock her socks. So in this fic Lisa is dressed like
Madonna, Leah like Cyndi Lauper and Boyd and Steve in bad eighties suits.
Oh this is set in summer,
say just before training camp. We can imagine the Wings took their wives /
partners / etc to a party before the season started.
A/N's 2 There was a urban
myth about Jelly bracelets doing the rounds last summer. Allegedly if you
snapped someone's bracelet you owed them devilish sexual favours. It may or may
have not lead to the decline of world morals and the showing of Janet's nipple
at the superbowl.

"That was fun."
Leah giggled and grabbed at Boyd as she stumbled on the uneven paving stones.
"How did Cyndi Lauper
wear these shoes all the time?"
Completely ignoring the fact they were outside Leah
grabbed Boyd's own none to steady arm and tugged her shoes off.
"Perfect." She giggled, wiggling her toes on
the concrete and stepping back right into the person behind her.
"Oopsie!" Leah put her hand over her mouth
almost smacking herself in the face with her shoes as she looked in comical
horror at Steve Yzerman.
"I am so so so so so sorry Stevie." She
blurted out. "Are you ok?"
"Leah you just bumped into me. I'm fine."
Steve smiled down at the blonde trying not to laugh.
"Ok." Leah leaned forward to Lisa and
nodding whispered very loudly. "I think I am a wee bit plastered."
Lisa smiled as well putting a hand out to prevent Leah
falling forward. "It's ok. I'm a bit plastered myself. It's the
wine."
"It was the fifth glass." Leah contradicts.
"That one is so the killer."
Ok." Lisa smiles. "I hope the two of you
aren't driving." She said managing not to laugh at the younger couple.
Both Deveraux's exaggeratedly shook their heads.
"No way." Boyd's eyes opened really wide. "Taxi." He looks
at the empty road in front of them sadly. "We should call a taxi
honey." He finally tells Leah.
"There is a phone inside." she replies.
"I have a cell phone." Steve says grabbing
Boyd's arm when he turns back to the banquet hall.
"You know what?" Lisa smiles at her husband.
"You two are on our way, we can take you home."
Lisa hooks her arm over Leah's and walks toward her
car. "I won't take no for answer honey."
"Ok, thank you so much." Leah runs a bit to
keep up with Lisa's fast steps, dropping her bag, jacket and shoes on the way.
Steve grins at Boyd.
"Looks like I'm playing butler and chauffer for
your wife Boyd." Steve laughs and grabs the dropped articles. "You
owe me." He says smiling at the younger mans blush.

"We should sit in the back so there is room for
their legs." Lisa opens the door, "after you honey, scoot over so I
can get in as well."
Leah grins as Lisa taps her backside to make her move
to the other side of the car and sits down behind Boyd. Laughing as he grumbles
about not fitting his legs in where Lisa usually sits and shoving the seat all
the way back.
Leah giggles more as Lisa laughs and takes the seat
belt out of her hands and clips it in, pulling the fabric smooth over the
younger woman's chest.
"The kids twist them." Lisa explains
smiling. "So you have to make sure they are," she smiles
"straight."
"Ok." Leah giggles. "I'm not used to
being in the back." She leans forward and wraps her arms around the top of
the seat and around Boyd's neck "I am so going to kick the back of your
chair."
"You might need your shoes for that." Steve
cuts in, dropping the platforms Leah had been wearing on the seat between her
and his wife.
"Whoops!" Leah laughs again.
"Shoes."
"Yes. Shoes." Steve laughs.
"No I don't need directions Boyd." He runs
his fingers quickly over the back of Boyd's hand. "I remember the
way." In the rear view mirror his eyes catch Lisa's and they share a brief
private smile.

Lisa smiles at Leah who sighs and leans her head back
against the seat. "I had so many of those bracelets." Lisa runs her
fingers up the jelly bracelets on Leah's arm
"I got them from the dollar store." Leah
giggles. "I had to buy packets ands packets of stupid black ones to get
the five sparkly ones. In each bag." She taps the silver glitter one that
Lisa is running her finger over.
"Do you know that urban myth?"
Leah shakes her head. "Uh-uh, what one?"
"Oh it was a rumor going around high schools. If
you snap a bracelet you owe the person. Apparently all the kids do it."
Lisa laughed. "I am not sure I remember the rules."
"Darling?" Lisa leans forward over the back
of Steve's chair and runs her hand over his hair lightly. "Do you remember
the rules?"
"I do." Boyd pipes up, turning around and
smiling at Lisa. "Blue is a kiss." He shrugs when they all look at
him "What? Homer thought it was fascinating."
Lisa leans over and snaps the blue bracelet closest to
Leah's hand.
"Oops." She says smiling.
Leah giggles and leans over the seat and kisses Boyd's
shoulder through his shirt.
"Blue for boys?" She asks.
"And pink for girls." Boyd replies snapping
the pink bracelet one Leah's left wrist from where it is leaning against his
chest.
"I hate to break it to you Boyd, but you're not a
girl." Steve laughs as his teammate leans in to kiss his wife.
"True. But I am." Lisa leans forward and
kisses the back of Leah's neck lightly. "We don't want to get in trouble
with the rule gods." She smiles and leans back in her seat.
Leah turns and stares directly into Lisa's eyes and
smiles suddenly. Tugging the bottom few bracelets off her wrist she stretches
them so they fit over Boyd's hand.
Turning back to Lisa she asked softly; "what do
you think the rainbow one means?"
"One of us should snap it to find out." Lisa
replies.
"This is your place." Steve announces to the
silent car pulling into the driveway.
Leah whispers something to her husband and then Boyd
asks slightly breathlessly, "Aren't you going to open the door for Leah
Steve? If you are the chauffer?"
Steve smiles." I guess so, but I'm not wearing a
hat."
Leah giggles and smiles as Steve opens first Boyd's
and then her door. She takes the hand she is offered and doesn't drop it when she
is standing on the driveway.
"Are you going to snap one Steve?" Boyd
leans against his captain's back and taking Leah's hand from Steve's kisses her
wrist softly.
Steve smiles over the roof of the car at his wife
getting out of the car.
"What is gold?" He asks snapping the
bracelet in two.
"Definitely a kiss." Lisa says.
"A long kiss." Boyd agrees.
"Tongue. " Leah smiles and blushes a little.
Steve leans down and wraps his hand around the back of
her neck, leaning down as she stretches up on her tiptoes toward him. He
brushes his lips lightly across the younger woman's. Licking her lips until she
parts them and slides his tongue into her mouth licking lightly across the side
of her before lazily sliding it around the inside of her mouth.
Leah drops back flat footed as Steve pulls away. She
gasps as Lisa runs her hand down her bare arm and snaps the on of the black
jelly bracelets. "And what does that mean?"
"We have to invite you in I think." Leah
whispers, closing her eyes and leaning closer to Lisa as the older woman runs
her hand up the soft inside of her arm.
