The Cyclops was created by Finster to destroy the Power Rangers for Rita Repulsa. Equipped with the ability to change his shape at will, the Cyclops posed as the DragonZord, then began destroying much of Angel Grove. He was eventually faced with the Power Rangers, and was more than a match for the MegaZord. The battle went back and forth, until Tommy escaped from the Dark Dimension and joined the fight, summoning the real DragonZord. The DragonZord's tail drill jolted the Cyclops out of his disguise and back into his normal form. Upon realizing that the DragonZord could knock him out of form, the Cyclops retreated.
The Cyclops soon returned, this time posing as the DragonZord in Fighting Mode, and attacked a city near Angel Grove. With the other Rangers busy dealing with the Green Candle, Tommy faced the Cyclops alone. Though at first the DragonZord had the upper hand, the Cyclops' used his ability to morph into other Zords well, transforming into the MegaZord, DragonZord in Fighting Mode, and Tyrannosaurus DinoZord over the course of the fight. The DragonZord was eventually overwhelmed by the Cyclops. The other Rangers soon intervened, and immediately formed the UltraZord, whose numerous blasts overpowered the Cyclops and destroyed it in a huge explosion.
