The Face Stealer was an evil entity that, on the day of the 4th full moon of the year, attacked a Kahmalan village 5,000 years ago, using his powers to steal peoples' faces, leaving them without souls. A group of warriors eventually faced the foul creature and, using a set of magical masks, defeated him, trapping his spirit within an urn. The urn eventually ended up on display at the Angel Grove Museum. His urn stolen by Rito, Squatt, and Baboo, Face Stealer was unleashed by Rita Repulsa and turned loose onto Earth once again. Upon battling the Power Rangers, Face Stealer emerged victorious, blasting Adam and Aisha and stealing their faces. Remembering the rest of the legend, Billy led the remaining Rangers to the museum, where they borrowed the ancient masks, then returned to battle. Upon seeing the masks, Face Stealer was obviously terrified by their presence, but tried to attack the Rangers anyway. Firing his face-stealing ray at them, the beam was reflected back onto him by the ancient masks, causing him to release all the faces he had stolen. Made giant-sized by Rita and Lord Zedd, Face Stealer found himself to be no match for the Ninja Zords, being pummelled by the Ninja MegaFalconZord before finally being blown up by the Ninja UltraZord. His body destroyed, Face Stealer's spirit returned to the urn, which was quickly sealed by Tommy.
Inexplicably, Face Stealer was present in the Machine Empire's army as they conquered the Phantom Ranger's home planet, where he was presumably vaporized by Zordon's energy wave.
