How To Make Your Own Glitter Painting

By Outsider LuLu

1. Find a piece of cardboard.

2. Draw your face on it. Keep it simple…just a circle head, two eyes (circles again), and a mouth…a smiley-style one will do. Add some hair.

3. Make paste out of flour and water. It should be the consistency of…well, thicker than Elmer's Glue, but still spreadable.

4. Using a plastic knife or spoon, spread the glue on the cardboard. Do just one section at a time.

5. Generously sprinkle glitter on the glue section.

6. Let dry for a long time…at least a day.

7. Each following day do another section and let it dry. Continue until your glitter painting is finished. Viola!

8. Seal your painting with hairspray. Otherwise it will continue to shed glitter.

9. Make two holes at the top corners and tie a long piece of ribbon in. Hang it up on your wall and get ready for oohs and aahs and la-ti-dahs from your friends and family.

P.S. Don't worry about all of the glitter that gets all over the floor and the carpet. It vacuums right out. And the glitter comes out of your hair too. Just shampoo.

My next groovy art pieces are going to be made out of macaroni! Macaroni is the perfect medium…you can make art with it, wear it (make a necklace), and if you have any left over, you can cook it up and eat it. No more starving artists!
