Biography

I reside in Albany, Georgia, USA. I enjoy learning and have been in school for most of my life.

Healthcare is my passion. My first venture into healthcare was as a volunteer. As a senior in high school, I worked as a DCT Nursing Assistant. I am a Nurse Educator at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Phoebe has over 3000 employees, operates six Family Medical Centers and has acquired Baptist Worth Hospital in Sylvester, Georgia. In additions to orientation and continuing education responsibilities I teach CPR. I have been teaching CPR for more than 10 years and really enjoy teaching non-healthcare professionals these lifesaving techniques.

I began my nursing career in 1980, first as a Licensed Practical Nurse. In 1986, I acquired an Associate Degree as a Registered Nurse. In 1989, I received my Bachelors Degree in Nursing. The changes occurring in healthcare told me that I would benefit from some business background. I went back to school and in 1994, just one month before our great flood, I graduated with a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

The past seven years in the education department, I have truly learned a lot. Adults do truly learn differently. Adults sometimes want you to accept their mediocrity, but will not accept the same from you. Give them what they want and when they need what I have to offer, then they will come. The Master in Education, will provide the formal training for what I have been doing since 1994.

I enjoy reading (not romance novels), teaching CPR and helping others. My greatness strength is probably that I am dependable, reliable, a team player and will give more than 100%. One of my weaknesses can be that in giving more than 100%, I forget about myself most often.

Now, it is my turn!
