The Westies, also known as the Hell's Kitchen Irish Mob or New York Irish Mob, find its origins to Owney "the Killer" Madden who found his origins in New York's Gopher gang. The Westies would find a large amount of in-fighting between two rival factions one led by Mickey Spillane and the other by Jimmy Coonan. The Westies would go on to be one of the most feared gangs in New York City under the reign of Jimmy Coonan. A non-Irishman by the name of Bosco Rondonjich took reigns of the Westies. Today it is believed that John "Little Jackie" Coonan, III, nephew of Jimmy & Eddie Coonan and son of Jackie Coonan, is the gang's leader. Sean Cummiskey, Eddie Cummiskey's son, has also been rumored as a current member.
