SEASONS

by Teresita Perez

Spring is in the air.
The seeds quickly sprout.
Little blades grow tall and fair.
The rainbow of flowers is out.

Summer follows soon.
Rest a while and see the sway,
in the warm breeze at noon,
of grown-up plants that waive.

Then envious the leaves
into many colors turn
to slowly fall and leave
a carpet on the earth.

At last to sleep... It's winter.
Nature says, "Good night."
And on to dream she enters
innocently white.
