LOVERS' QUARREL
by Teresita Perez
The lamp light outlines her resting silhouette.
A blank expression depicts from the perfect face.
She fixes her gaze upon an invisible detail in the canopy.
Her hand inadvertently pets the satin sheets.
The moonlight reflects from the metal of his car.
The speeders hunk and grumble as they try to pass.
He focuses upon the road's unending stripes, blinking not.
His hand inadvertently steers the Pontiac.
Inspired by theme of a poem in Spanish by José Martí Pérez
