ALARM CLOCK
by Teresita Perez
This getting up is soooooooooooooooooo wrong.
Bring a hammer to the clock.
Smash it against a rock.
In bed is where I belong.
My need to sleep is so strong
that for me rest is a treasure,
though later I'll dread to measure
how my waist and hips abound
laying here, gaining more pounds,
the price to pay for such pleasure.
