From Coast to CoastThe traveling bug has hit me. I love an adventure and there is none better than touring the world!Traveling is something that keeps me humble and content to come home again to the Midwest.

West Coast
The song "I left my heart in SanFrancisco" speaks from my soul. I loved this city by the bay. My Aunt Cathy and Uncle Kevin Leong live in Alameda, California and hosted me in their home Summer of 2001 while I did an internship with West Advertising. In my internship I worked on a variety of tasks ranging from account coordinating, researching products and services, creative brainstorming, and web page troubleshooting. I learned a great deal about the advertising business and what skills I would need to develop in college to be valuable to a business. The brisk, foggy weather with breath taking views makes this city my top choice for an extended stay and maybe a future home. |
Midwest
In the center of the US, where things move a little slower, is where I call home. While I was in California people told me that you can tell the Midwest folk because when they make a promise their word is all you need. I am proud to say that I was raised by this standard and could not have chosen a better place to grow up. Traveling gives me a freedom to stretch my boundaries but it always feels good to come home again. |
South
July, 2002 I traveled "deep in the heart of Texas". This was my first trip to the South. I came back to the Midwest with a new understanding of the pride that Texans have in their state. I visited Houston, Dallas, and Ft. Worth with John Aronowitz. His family made wonderful hosts to the state and we even to time to watch a Southern favorite "Fried Green Tomatoes". East Coast
Over Thanksgiving 2001, Trisha Hobbiebrunken and I visited New York City for the first time. We both came back agreed that NYC is a great city to visit, but we would not consider living there. Landmark attractions, killer restaurants, and well... the list goes on and on of what you could do in NYC. Although, my advice, get plenty of sleep before you leave because this city truly never sleeps. |
Europe
Spring Break 2002 I was lucky enough to go to Europe for 10 days with my parents. It was wonderful to spend the time together and tour through Europe with little advanced planning. We spent 5 days in Paris, 2 with the Jack Tank family, then took the high speed Chunnel to London for an additional 5 days. There was so much that we did, the pictures just start to explain.
