• Chrasimatic Leader(s) that state they they alone can understand the Bible properly.
• The use of deceitful methods in recruitment of new members.
• Isolation of their members from society; filtering of information.
• The use of mind control methods on the membership.
• Control of the group's environment and communication.
• Manipulation: Leaders are perceived as being chosen by God. Salvation can only be attained through the cult.
• An Us vs. Them mentality is devolped.
• The cult's doctrines are considered sacred and must not be doubted or questioned.
• Conventional words and prases are given special, in group meanings.
• Members are conditioned to feel guilt if they ever question group doctrines.
• The group contains the elite; outsiders are evil, unsaved. Leaving the group will have devasting results.

THE HYPROCRISY LIES IN THAT EVERYONE OF THESE SO-CALLED "CHARACTERISTIC OF A 'CULT'" CAN AND USUALY 'DO' DISCRIBE 'MOST" FUNDAMENTAL AND/OR PENTECOSTAL CHURCHES!

Calvary Chapel is a contemporary Protestant church that claims to be a perfect combined answer to both Fundamental and Pentecostal Protestantism. Calvary Chapel claims also have improved upon both by being a more tolerant answer. Indeed, Calvary Chapel is very tolerant and welcoming to different styles: surfers, hippies, punkers, bikers and welcomes people to dress normal instead of rigid formal dress codes. They also have great sounding modern music. Infact, they started the whole concept of contemporary christian Rock. Never the less, as Jesus people USA have often stated, Cavery Chapel is at the top of the list of Protestant churches that tag Alternative Religious groups all as "cults". Many of these characteristics of a "cult" that the ACM has laid out and of which Cavary also speaks of when tagging other groups are also labbled back at them by their own former members who tag THEM with these 12 charges.
