Mississippian through Permian Period. Ventral valve is deep and conical with dorsal valve much smaller and convex. Fine radial ribs suprimposed over wide, strong ribs. Interior covered with small, dense bumps. Most will show an attachment scar as an irregularly shaped area from cementing themselves to a hard substance at an early age.
