Chorea (St. Vitus' Dance)
Chorea is a disease that is usually caused by the presence of a hard pad, or some irritation of the nervous tissue. You can tell if your dog has Chorea if he/she has daily twitching spasms. They may look harmless, but after each spasm, brain damage may occur. Sometimes Chorea intensifies in more than one muscle area, so you may think it best to put him or her to sleep. But dogs usually physically recover, although more nervous complications may appear in 7 to 28 days.
